Get past the 1st week of Dr.Layman's rants about robots and then study and you will be fine. Yeah the class is hard, but if you take notes and read HIS BOOKS, (you can buy them on Amazon.com), you can pass this class. It is not that bad. Be ontime and prepared. He likes that.

I thought Dr. Layman was great! Take his class if you want to actually learn things and remember them. Coming out of his class I feel like I am ready to enter the Nursing Program. Unlike other teachers he actually teaches and you have to know the stuff.

For all you crybabies who think Dr. Layman is to hard, get over yourself. His main goal is to prepare you for the real world of the medical field. I learned so much from him and most importantly the everlasting idea of never settling for foggy thinking. FIGURE IT OUT! so what if he is passionate about robotics just ask him to proceed with lecture.

Dr. Layman, is very hard teacher, but if you come to class everyday that is if you make it past the first week of robots the rest gets easy. Don't buy the text book because he goes off his books and record his lecture cuz the test are all from his lecture and before the test just re-read his book chapter- kinda fun to read- and you'll be fine.

Dr. Layman is a robotic craze man! This is such a great subject being taught by a complete looney! He is erratic, compulsive and very rude at times. He rants and raves about robots so much that our class ran behind. Dr. Layman is highly intelligent but I do not think he enjoys teaching anymore. Do not take him. I urge you to consider this advice!!

This was by far the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. He did nothing but talk about robots for the first month and then crammed a bunch of tests in the last week because he had such poor time managament skills and didnt even go over some of the most imoportant elements of A&P. He was not helpful at all!

I'm in Dr. laymans class right now and I can say that I really wish that I didn't get him when I registered. He's arrogent and constintely talks about his stupid 4 books that he wrote. We're supposed to be studying the Endocrine System right now and but he can't seem to stop talking robots and the future of mankind. NEVER TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!

First before I trash Doctor Layman, let it be known that I am a 35 year old Science teacher, well former teacher I went back to school to get my medical degree. So I know A/P, Chem, bio, Micro. The problem with alot of students is they give allcolades to teachers for doing their job. helping you with questions, and explaining the topic well is his

Dr.Layman was by far the best teacher I have ever had. I did feel that there were alot of people in my class that shouldn't be there. If you are the type of student who wants to pass a class by sleeping and arguing to get a better grade then you picked the wrong major and maybe you should do art or music!

He is retiring after this semester. I don't know why everyone is complaining about him. He is very intelligent and has a lot to teach if you're willing to learn. I can see how he can intimidate students who are looking for an easy A or B. But you really have to work for your grade. He's not as bad as everyone says.

Some of the comments are true. He is hard. A&P is hard. He expects a lot from students. This is not an easy class. But he is there to help. He is very clear with what he wants and expects from students. Term quiz and lab practicals are mostly memorizing. Exams are both memorizing and practical application. Don't be afraid by previous posts.

The ones who are complaining about Dr Layman aren't dedicated, instead lazy, students who are looking for an easy A. He's incredibly knowledgeable and is happy to teach those who are willing to learn. He's a great teacher. Just go to class. Take notes. Listen to lecture. If you get all the extra credit points, you will pass with an A.

Dr Layman is a great teacher. There is a lot of work required because he expects a lot from his students. But he does silly things to help memorize structures and functions whenever possible. Tests are only difficult if you don't go to class.

I had him for Bio 250 and 251. He was a great teacher - made you learn! I didn't find it particularly hard as long as you studied mainly from the objective sheet and the notes. He did though think we were all disrespectful if we said anything about not having enough time for a test, etc. Never personally had a problem but he could be mean!
