Comment:

Professor Searcy is excellent. He is clearly brilliant, especially in the areas of income tax and estate tax and I have taken both from him. He goes way out of his way to explain and help. His examples make hard concepts easier to recall. It makes you want to learn tax. And that is amazing in itself.

Comment:

Loved taking his Wills/Trusts class last semester. Sometimes he's lost in space, but clearly knows what he's talking about. Most helpful outside of class, either after class or in his office. Final exam's a bit out there, though.

Comment:

I could swear personal income tax was taught by Socrates himself. The difficulty many will have is deciphering what exactly it is he is asking. I found taking notes to be too distracting some days, but if you can follow him then you will have learned something, by the end his questions seemed telegraphed i.e. I learned. Awesome outside of class.

Comment:

Had him for Agency/partnership and he wasn't too bad. I felt like I actually learned something from him. In Wills/Trusts he was TERRIBLE...all over the place. I didn't learn a thing. The exam was impossible. He is a very kind person and very funny, but bottom line: do not take him for a broad coarse like tax or wills/trusts or estate planning.

Don't take him if you want to learn, seriously. Stay the heck away from his classes. Although he is very nice and his intentions are good, I have now taken over 60 hours of classes and he destroys all desire to learn or even breath during class.
