Comment:

Best teacher I've ever had. If you are bashing him, you probably should have put in more time studying. Very knowledgeable in his field with great experience. Demanded respect in the classroom, but all teachers should. Great person outside of class as well. Wish my teachers at UMD were this good.

I would have definitely taken more classes with him. He was one of the best teachers I have ever had. For all of the people that bashed him, they most likely didn't show up or didn't listen or read the textbook. He pushed you so you actually KNEW the material. He was such a good teacher. He will be missed.

Was a great teacher and very knowledgeable in the field of Psychology. Yes reading your textbook was necessary but to be expected and is reasonable. He expected no talking in class while lecturing and would call you out if caught talking again reasonable show some respect. chauvinist??? I don't see that at all. I will miss his expertise.

I find it interesting that in class, when we talked about psychopaths one day; Cronin thought that he is one. You get an uncomfortable feeling in his presence, like something is not quite right. His teaching is not that bad though, I ended with around 105%. He frequently yelled at the class saying "read the damn book," etc.

The fact that he is a "tough teacher" isn't the problem--it's the fact that he is rude, unprofessional, and way too temperamental. If you aren't bothered by that, go ahead and take a class with him. If you like instructors who treat people respectfully WITHOUT HAVING TO BE TOLD, then do yourself a favor and take a different section.

Damien was a phenomenal teacher. He expects you to work, but that's part of college. The people who are complaining about him are the personification of "community college"-- they're lazy. College is work. If you do your assignments and readings, he respects you... it's that simple.

I thought he was a wonderful teacher. Everyone has a personality and he's no different. He takes his job seriously and if you take college seriously there will be no problem. If you are excited about learning, he will be excited to teach you. He truly is a magnificent professor.

What an awful teacher. He gives you tests online what have nothing to do with what he has lectured on. He rambles off on stupid personal stories to avoid questions. He deliberatly avoids questions, comes to class late and un prepared, and raises his expectataions to high. AVOID!!!!!!!!!!

I'm an A student,and had a hard time sometimes in this class. Cronin will make you work and mostly work hard. Be prepared to do actual work, which is a part of college?? He will pick on students who are not paying attention or slacking, if you have a problem with that directly tell him after class,problem solved!Helpful if you make efforts and care

This instructor is great! Agreed, he may be a bit of a 'know it all'-but he really pushes all of his students to think deeper. He creates challenges! If you follow more of a simple/lazy style--DON'T take his class, it probably won't be in your best interest & you might fail.You will work hard in his class!He is very helpful!Great character also.

Dealing with many older relative, friends, & customers led to great interest in this class. Many myths were broken. Teacher worked at engaging students, getting their ideas of "old". Had to make a living will-interesting & challenging for many, esp. younger students. Had to work very hard. There were no give-away grades. Teacher very helpful.

Tough class. Hated the quizzes. Great teacher who worked hard and expected students to work hard because info was important. Always available to give extra help. Set high expectations. You had to earn your grades--no freebees. Taught at the expected college level. Class participation a must.

The guy doesn’t care if your taking notes, if he thinks your not paying attention will harass you just for the fun of it. He is a mail chauvinists that thinks her knows everything and is quite often wrong about various things(not class related). Of course don’t correct him, or you will receive lower marks on tests.

He's very knowledgable and his lectures are engaging. He offers excellent stories from his days as a clinical psychologist. Unfortunately, he seems to be somewhat of a sadist. He will "pick on" people in class, and chastise them as if they are children for a multitude of stupid reasons. He seems to spend a lot of time making his tests as difficult and confusing as possible. I'm an A student, but I had to work exceptionally hard to do well in his class. He's also a known chauvenist.
