Dan is very lecture heavy BUT the lectures are interesting and informative. He's very understanding and is willing to go over anything you don't understand. Gives daily exercises that are easy and really help you grasp the concepts he's teaching.

Professor Austin is the best professor I had so far. He has the capability to improve the student level from C to A if you listen to his instructions and do all your homework. He teaches you how to read and write. Also, prepares students very well to the next class level.

Prof Austin is the best teacher I have ever gotten at ARC. His instruction is very clear and he prepares you very well for Engwr 300. He is also a great human and very respected. He is very straightforward about what he wants and is a fair grader. He is available to help you write any time.

A fantastic professor. Gives clear and easy to follow grading criteria and agenda. The homework for this course is extra credit towards final drafts on essays. Very inteligent and honest. Will not sugar coat or talk down to you. I would take a course with him again.

Dan Austin was one of the best teachers on campus. As he would say "that sounds cliché. " You will know your English, step by step. I recommend not to sleep on this and take him before he retires. Tip: keep up with the work. It's not hard work but you just gotta be ontop of it.

Essays were assigned throughout, with prework as extra credit towards final draft. If you're a good writer you can just bust out good papers & if you struggle the prework gives you that edge. Took the Saturday class & liked it a lot. He's a good professor, funny but on topic. Follow his steps for writing and you'll do fine.

Great teacher, excellent feedback. I got an easy A. I barely didn't test high enough for English 1A so I had to take this. He definitely prepares you for your next class and provides valuable feedback on your writing skills and book discussions.

His pet peeve is coming to class unprepared and not doing papers needed to be done. Do your work and the points should add up. I have definitely learned to write better and learned a lot in from him in preparation for ENG 300.He is an awesome teacher and is there to drive you to become better writers to survive through college.Worked hard for my A!

I took 4 classes this semester, and for me personally this class stressed me the most. I took his Saturday class and papers were due every week - which at all is not bad since you only meet once a week, half way through the semester we transitioned to essay workshops,writing on demand took away the homework. He's an awesome guy and knows his craft

AMAZING Teacher , Dan is probably the most amazing teacher i have had so far at ARC he is very clear if you want to learn to write and pass the class don't miss the class he does not appreciate it, I passed the Class with an A and learned how to write. Im ESL student and i felt weird taking regular classes, bit it was worth it!After taking his class i can write any essay because i know how!He is smart- gives examples of essays and you have to work on your essays.Take him if you want not to be afraid of essays.

Dan is amazing! He really knows how to get the lesson across in a way most can understand! He's really funny and incredibly HOT! I would recommend taking him if you like writing and want to improve because I did and I'm 100% better now! He doesn't like tardy students and will make a spectacle of you if you are! Mostly laid back!

Excellent professor. His only downfall is the occasional political comment that generalizes conservatives without acknowledging both parties are equally corrupt. That aside, I loved this class; I honed my writing skills and in the process, learned even more about myself. I would highly recommend Professor Austin!
