Comment:

Ennis is a Dean for a reason. He just is not a good teacher. He's a great lecturer but when it comes to office hours, he has none, and basically you are being taught by a TA. He's a great lecturer and he is so funny, but he gives way too many quizzes, like once a week and goes way off the syllabus.

I'm sure he knows his Brit Lit, but he's really super slack. His handouts always have mulitple careless errors, and he graded incredibly easy compared to the professor who co-taught the course. He was also my advisor, and I had to stay a year longer because he misadvised me twice. Big ego with little to back it up.

Horrible teacher, not very helpful, have quizzez=s eveyday, like to make you miserable, always staple your papers because if you dont it will be considered late, its ridiculous. He just seems to be more into being the chair of the department and not his classes.

If you are not a white blonde girl then DON'T take the class. He is really rude to people he doesnt want to help, extremely incooperative and doesnt realize that everyone is not english major in the class. Its hard to get even a B in his class. Be ready to study your ass off, and read 80 pages for in class quiz(hard) every day.

It seems like since he became the Chair, those administrative responsibilities have taken precedence over those to his classes and students. He's not a bad guy, but I wouldn't suggest taking one of his classes for the simple reason that it seems like he only give it about 60%. The attendance policies are a little ridiculous as well.

Loved this class... Wasn't sure what I was getting into at first, but this guy makes Brit Lit as interesting as it can be... The hardest part was having to memorize and recite a 14 line sonnet in front of the class... Ouch! Would def. reccommend

Sweet, funny, and very helpful. He does get pissed off easily if it is evident the class is not prepared though. He once kicked out over half a class for not having a poem picked out for a presentation. Honestly, they should have had one picked out- that's all they had to do by that day.
