She shows up half of the time, the other half is the teaching assistants. Lab groups are essential, be in a good group as you will be spending a lot of time with this group during lab and outside of lab to finish lab reports.

Professor appeared for maybe a quarter of the classes. Otherwise, she left TAs with notes that they seemed to have trouble understanding. Lab often covers material that won't be covered for weeks in lecture. Fridays are all online video lectures, some of which matter and some of which were complete wastes of time.

Comment:

She's alright. Very dry. Do the homework. The tests are always reflective of the material from the homework and labs. The multiple choice portions of the exams are the only difficult part of the exams, as they mainly come from the Friday online lectures. Take notes on the video lecture slides. Helpful in office hours and when you have questions.

This class was extremely boring and her grading criteria for the lab reports are ridiculous. She barely teaches you anything in lecture then expects you to know all the material by the time you do your lab. I honestly hated this class more than calculus 2 or physics 1.

This class was a waste of time, and it almost made me drop out of CE. She is incredibly dry and her lectures are not helpful, so I found myself teaching myself from the book almost weekly. Also her graders were really bad my semester so getting an A was almost impossible.

DO NOT GET THE TEXTBOOK! She advises you read it but this class is a relatively easy one and I did well without ever even opening it. Waste of money. Lectures on Fridays are canceled and will be replaced by online video lectures and a short quiz. It can be done on your own time and I would say its better than a Friday afternoon lecture.

She was a pretty good teacher overall. Very knowledgeable about surveying. Lectures were pretty boring but if you go you will know what to do on the homework and in labs. Tests aren't extremely difficult, but she puts a lot on them, making them time crunched.

Easy class and interesting labs. Lectures can get a bit boring/mundane at times, but generally the information is very useful for civil engineers, which is all that matters.

Professor Walton was always willing to help me whenever I had questions. She took time to explain things when I asked and responded quickly to e-mails. The labs were kind of fun when you get to work with the equipment.

Good prof. You don't have to do so well on labs, just do it get mostly As a little Bs and maybe 2 Cs and your good. Exams are easy because its similar to her review which is great. She teaches the material, take notes and look over them and you'll be fine on exams. She's a nice lady!

Wasn't clear with the TAs about what was okay and what wasnt okay on the group projects. I got some pretty crappy grades on stuff she said was just fine. She gave assignments over stuff she hadn't gone over. Easy class if you can read the book though.

Lectures are 80% of the time pointless to go to. Class is easy A if you take the time and do the work and understand the material. Tests are very easy and mostly computational based. the other questions are random ones you wont know. semester project blows because it deals with autocad and she teaches you nothing only gives you the project details.

Worst teacher I have had at ISU. Her TA's have no idea what is going on. Tests are over quite a bit of material. Semester project is in AutoCADD - she does not know anything about AutoCADD.

Comment:

Did not collaborate with the other professor teaching the class creating overlap of material. Final project given out 1 week before it was due on account of TERRIBLE planning. Assignments rarely returned before tests. Tests cover too much material for the time given to complete. Decent lecturer, but one of the most disorganized classes Ive ever had
