Comment:

It was an online class so we listened to him on videos go over the exercises in the book which were just like the homework. The tests are difficult but they were open book/open note. Dr. Fesler is pretty hands off, though. Teach yourself. If you have gotten this far and chose ACCT as your major then it shouldn't be a problem to learn on your own.

Comment:

Personal Tax is not an easy credit like some may say it is. You have to work for it, and Dr. Fesler is a great professor to take for this course. He is very knowledgeable about the tax law, and overall a good professor.

If you are one who needs a professor to guide you through the class, this isn't the class for you. The lectures are outsourced as are quizzes and homework. I'd never taken accounting and I got an A but I had to work for it. If you study, do and UNDERSTAND the homework assignments, and turn stuff in on time, there is not reason you shouldn't do well

This is the internship class. Fesler is so funny. All you do is write a 15 page paper on your accounting internship and as long as you turn in everything on time you will make an A. Accounting GPA booster class

Although this class was administered completely online, this course was extremely informative. The course consists of three exams (two exams completed during the semester and a final exam), as well as two short-answer style assignments, homework, and participation. The textbook is absolutely essential. Dr. Fesler emailed back promptly.

Dr. Fesler is extremely generous. He curves the hell out of the tests! This helped me to focus on learning and not worrying so much about the grade. I appreciate his flexibility. He uses online lectures through MyBusinessCourse for this class which are extremely boring! Hardest B I've ever earned in my life.

ONLINE CLASS: Easier than Intermediate I, but still tough. Fesler gives lots of examples and provides lectures for you. HW is a lot of problems, but no quizzes. Test was the usual - study for it and practice and you'll be okay probably. Would recommend taking this in-class tough because it's harder to get clarification if you're confused. Still ok.

Pretty easy class. Professor is somewhat boring but very enthusiastic about the course. He is very helpful and easygoing. Highly recommend taking this class with this professor.

TERRIBLE teacher! He goes over the chapter for maybe 15 minutes and then does 3-5 problems in the remainder of the 2 hour class! Had to learn everything on my own from the book. I would've failed the class if the exams wouldn't have been open book.

Very Poor quality. Class online, very few lectures posted online. Presentations consisted of him working problems similar to homework and then giving check figures for the assignments. Useless to ask him a question, he would never give you a straight answer. Exams were nothing like the homework and practice quizzes on homework website. Pathetic!

Dan is a good man. He'll keep you on the edge of your seat. If you need a business elective take personal tax and boost your GPA. very little effort required and you learn how to do your taxes which you're going to have to learn anyways.

I cannot believe that Tenn. Tech allows this man to be called a 'professor'. His 'teaching' consists of useless little anecdotes and senseless babble - not relating whatsoever to accounting. I did fine in the class, but if you really want to learn from a true teacher, you will be hard-pressed to get it from him. Avoid at all cost.

Dr. Fesler is a real character. His classes are full of him acting goofy, but the man knows his stuff. You HAVE to read the book to do well in this class (can't stress that enough), but you will if you do. I made an A, but I had to work for it. He's a very entertaining teacher, so be ready for that. I really enjoyed this class.

First off, this guy is a character. I'd recommend him to people just so they could see what he's like. You won't have another professor like him. Don't take him if you are the kind of student that likes a lot of notes to learn a subject (similar to Rand). You need teach yourself most of the material and then you go over it in class.

I'd take him again. He loves accounting & wants to fill you with his information. You are required to do homework & there are quizes every week, but they are both so easy that you will make a C at least if you do these. The tests are hard & he takes roll once a week, but class is easy because he always gets off topic & gets nothing accomplished.
