Dan Miller is a good instructer. He is pretty funny but you have to like his kind of humor which isnt for everyone. Tests are hard but he will help you give you the benefit of the doubt.

The exams are easy if you study the power points. There are a few group projects, but he is a relatively easy grader. Show up to class because there are participation points.

Doesnt give a study guide for the exams so you have no idea what to study for. The class average on the exams were around a 60% every time. Im pretty sure he curves your grade at the end though. His lectures are really boring and he just reads from the slides word for word. Hes an okay professor at best.

Funniest professor I have had in college. Great guy with a above average personality. Tests suck but the projects are easy and he is not a hard grader. If you do the projects you will pass the class. I have failed the exams and will get a B or better in the course.

You do A LOT of group projects, but they are very manageable. Only 1 person in your group needs the book in order to do well, unless you want it for note taking outside of class. His lectures cover a few chapters a class, but nothing too crazy. He has a unique sense of humor and is lenient on grading if you put in the effort and he can see it.

Even though this is CIS and supposed to be technology based, he is makes you do everything in hard copy. No computers to turn anything in or you'll fail your project. He makes weird jokes that will make you give a pity laugh but leave you uncomfortable. Exams are 25% terminology, 75% random scenarios. There is no real way to study for his exams.

Comment:
The lectures, like most, are boring and he usually does 2 chps a class, but as soon as he's done, class is over. Projects are a pain but he is generous with A's, it will stress you, especially the 3 group projects. He gives no study guides for exams, and no homework. Lab days are optional attendance, leaving only 1 required day to attend his class.

He flies through the lectures and you don't even have any time to write anything down. He gives out a lot of projects that can stress you out but make use that you do them because the exams are really hard. I got an E,D,E on the exams and got 100% on all the projects and still passed with a B.

The class itself is hard but he is an easy grader and that helped a lot. Some assignments were ridiculously hard and scary, I just did what I could and he always gave me a good grade. As long as you show that "You're actually trying to pass" he will pass you. Make sure to take a screenshot for the codes he show in class otherwise you'll struggle.

Miller is great! BUT the lectures are boring and don't seem to help with the tests. I haven't done well on most of the tests (C & D) . This class is 50% tests 50% projects. Make sure you get your projects done on time or early and you are good. I would say he is a good choice if you are motivated to work since it feels like is all projects.

This guy is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. All he does is read off the slides in class, I think I can do his job. Highly recommend not getting Miller unless you want to take a nice snooze every time you go to his class.

He stands in the front of the room and reads off of power point slides, but there's no other way to teach the class. He makes inappropriate jokes but he is an easy grader. Nice guy as long as you can take weird jokes. Harder tests, but you can study for them easily.

He doesn't teach to the exam. I read the textbook, showed up to every class, took notes, and even reviewed slides after class. I still barely passed the exams. The only saving grace to keep you grade afloat are the projects and they're majority group work and they are hardly related to what you learn in class.

He is a no BS guy and tells you like it is. Pretty and sarcastic at times. Moves very fast during his lectures so I didn't learn much from him. Read the book and study the slides. Exams are not too bad with no surprises. Would recommend him for sure.

Dan Miller is never clear with his assignments. They are very vague and you are left to struggle to find the answers in the textbook or google. His exams has short answers questions, and unless your answer matches perfectly, then it does not count for points because he does not go back and check them. He talks too fast and is hard to follow.

Learned next to nothing through his lectures. Reads completely off the slides without explaining much of the content. Moves very fast and has a snarky attitude. Be prepared to rely on the textbook 100% because the lectures are useless when trying to learn the material. Would not recommend.

Entertaining speaker,TERRIBLE EDUCATOR. Don't expect any effort on his part, he just reads off slides from other professors. All tests and assignments are created by someone else, so he uses that as an excuse for everything. You'll regret taking any courses taught by him.
