He does not give good heads up for tests. The criteria needed for each test is not defined. And if you cant memorize 200 Pages of a book for 1 test then dont take this class.

He is a wonderful teacher but a horrible person. I took his class 2 years ago. My father died and I had to travel out of state for his funeral for a week. This man was angry and refused to LET me go until I turned in a one page vocab assignment. I put my foot down since I only stopped by to tell him that I was going to be absent and he let me go.

Hes funny and interesting. You will have to read a lot, you cannot go to class unprepared. You have to read the chapters before class in order to know what he is lecturing. Although it wasnt an easy class, if you pay attention and read, then you will be fine. He is understanding and will definitely offer help if you ask for it!

Professor Nesmith is not the average coach-friendly History professor. He definitely knows everything History. He is not lenient. If you don't care he won't either. He is not a big fan of technology so the focus of class is lectures, notes, reading, and paper tests/quizzes. It's imperative that students read! Nesmith is hard but he's great.

Awesome professor! You will have to actually read the textbook in this class. No for real, you will. His class was the most challenging class I've faced. He does give a ton of bonus points though; I finished his class with a high A thanks to them. Kids on here complaining shouldn't be in college. Apply yourself, quit expecting a handout.

I had him for History 1301. He knows his History, however, he doesn't make it interesting. He just throws out information. You cannot go to class without reading the chapters from the textbook before hand. If you go to him during office hours, he will help you to an extent. Sometimes grumpy, but will challenge you. Very old school.

Professor Dan Nesmith is truly an interesting professor. He is very passionate about history and it shows very well in his lectures. Be prepared to take notes, read the book before the class meeting to understand the lecture better, and be sure to look over the handouts. He is a tough grader and does not tolerate phones & tardiness.

Nesmith is a great professor. One of the best Navarro has to offer. The class is not hard as long as you read the book, look at the handouts, and pay attention in class. He teaches the material well and knows what he is doing. If you slack off in the class, you'll have a bad time. Just do your best and work hard in his class and you will pass

An incredibly rude man. His lectures can be interesting and he is an amazing teacher but his attitude is a problem. If your phone rings in class he will rudely yell at you to get out and makes the entire class watch you until you have gathered your things and walked out. Oh and he talks to us if we are dense.

If you get a chance to take his class, please do. Its a life changing experience. His classes are so lively and the energy in his lectures are off the charts. One of the best professors in the college. We need more professors like him. Get ready to read. No way that you can pass the class without reading. I took him for summer. Excellent professor.

He's a humorous guy and seems way younger at heart than he actually is.. but he also explains things to the class as if we are in elementary school which gets really boring and not very mentally stimulating, and gets pretty annoying when he tells you to listen and take "proper notes" which is the paying adult students responsibility and problem.

HANDS DOWN, THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD!! I never cared for history that much before taking his class. He really brings the history of our country to life. He is amazing and knows every little detail. He made my summer awesome! I would love to go back and take this class again even though I have already done it. Wonderful man and teacher!

He's the best professor on campus. He prepares you for the next level and teaches you about life in his crazy funny lectures. I took his class two years ago and he still remembers my name, so with that said, he is here to help and cares about his students. I took this class in 2001 and 2002. And it was the best experience ever... Hard work brings success... International Students loved this class. We now understood American History thanks to Professor Dan Nesmith.
