The most difficult part of this course was Palmer's very vague expectations on homework. No textbook being used for this class made it more difficult than it needed to be.

He definitely knows his material. He is not clear in instructions and expects you to read his mind. He is never specific enough but then grades you hard on it like you should know what he meant. He is all over the place in class and out. He is a tough grader as, in my opinion, if your opinion isn't his it's wrong. His classes are too unorganized.

Amazing Professor. He has loads of real world experience and is VERY knowledgeable. He is an extremely good teacher! He takes material which is very hard to explain / teach and and makes it so that just about anybody can grasp the concepts and excel. But, as with all CS classes, especially if it's your intended major, you MUST do the hw!

Best of the CS Dept hands down. Dr. Palmer not only knows his stuff but has a lot of real world experience and incorporates that in his courses. If you put in a moderate amount of effort outside of class you will be sufficiently prepared for exams. DO YOUR HOMEWORK and don't be afraid to go above and beyond for the sake of your understanding.

Dr. Palmer is one of my favorite teachers and people at JCU. He was such a great teacher and his first priority was to help his students and make sure they understand all the material. Not only is he a great teacher, I look forward to having a great mentor that I trust and respect through my college career.

Granted, he teaches rather well and can explain the material very well...but for this course...coming from a background of no experience with too much programming, i thought he expected way too much on tests and programs. Good teacher..but too hard on tests!!!!
