A clicker quiz every day at the start of class over material that wasn't taught yet. Then he would teach the material by reading the PP. End of week test was just clicker questions. There was homework, but its not checked.. Group project was majority of grade. He never answered any emails. Worst teacher. Glad he is retiring soon.

When I signed up for the class I thought it was for C/C++, instead it was python. Either way the class was super easy and I didn't need any help from Dan, I could have taken the class online and did just as well.

Includes practical problems on the exams but goes over those kind of problems very little or not at all in class. Slow at getting back to you on emails. Doesn't post links on black board when they're supposed to be. Doesn't keep you posted on how you're doing in class. Does power points in class and gives a quiz over the material every week.

He has a very dark and dry sense of humor. Be prepared for this going in and he is a little less off putting. The course was easy. He reads power points and assignments come from examples. All of this is on the website. Assignments are not graded. Clicker quiz every class over material that was just covered. 50% final just from clicker quizzes.

If CS is your thing, this class is a breeze. If it isn't - find a different teacher. Do -NOT- -EVER- ask a question. You WILL wish you hadn't even if you were 200% correct. He does teach it decently but you need to pay close attention so that you do not need to ask a question. He will not allow you to make up anything unless you're butt-buddies.

Presents material well. Will help if you have a good, intelligent question. If you say something "stupid", he has a tendency to light-heartedly ridicule. He does go over things quickly, so you must pay constant attention; however, classes usually end early because of this. The work is comprehensible and fits the material. Generally good!

Has a sick sense of humor. "Harassment comes for free" is his motto. Ask a question in class and you'll wish you hadn't. He'll squash you like a bug. Then when it's finally over, he'll pretend to be joking. I'm surprised nobody has stood up to him yet....

Had his TA teach the course online, the TA was as useless as Dan, class avg on first midterm was like a 60%, midway through the semester only grades posted were the first assignment (info about you which every one gets perfect), going to take his actually class, I've heard he does curve very well, but i couldn't risk it

Just read the book and and Problem Solving with C++ and the class should be fine. The class hasn't finished yet, but so far the exams are easy as he11 and the homeworks are really easy. No need for C++/C/Html background. Extremely easy if taking it online!!!
