I took Dan Weber's class and was Failing at the quizzes. I learned very quickly that reading the book and studying before class (with two others) was useful. When I met with him to go over a topic I had trouble with he really went the extra mile. I don't think he is condescending, he just has a very dry sense of humor. I ended up with an A though!

He speaks so condescendingly to anyone who has a question or doesn't understand. He is willing to give help, but it isn't very useful.. No matter what you do, it won't be good enough for him. If you put him in front of a mirror I'm sure he'd correct even himself. If you're brave enough to take it, do not bother with the book, never used it.

This class was very dissapointing. Vague lectures with little to no detail on topics to know or information needed for tests. Papers are graded hard, grammar counts on everything. Attendance counts, no extra credit. If you get a book, it might help but most of what is covered is not from the book. I wish I had dropped this. :(

Impossible. I had to drop this class. He encourages you to drop the class. There were only two exams and there were some quizzes that made up your grade. If you take him, I suggest you make sure you have the time to seriously study your notes AND the book. I also suggest a study group. He is kind and enthusiastic, but very hard. Good luck!

Don't waste your time or money with this instructor! He is disorganized and the material is too vast to learn the way it is being taught. The only information is through his lectures and he doesn't cover everything that shows up on the exams. Google was my teacher in this course. He even told the class that he took his own exam and missed questions

HOW RUDE! Talks to his classes as if they are stupid. I graduated with honors, but this professor made me feel as if I was the dumbest person on the planet. VERY CONDESCENDING! Tried hard for several weeks before finally dropping the class (without a refund) to save my GPA!

Worst professor that I have ever had. Will not answer your questions. He expects way to much out of you for a test. Grammar counts in his class. It doesn't matter how much you study his test will destroy you. Never had a problem with any college class before. He is just a terrible teacher. Knows what he is talking about just can't teach it.

The whole grade is 2 tests and some quizzes. They are NOT multiple choice and there's no word bank to help you. The tests have many essay questions on it as well. The quizzes are impossible. He tells you to drop the class while you still can. I did not finish this class. The people I know who did, tried their best and only got C's.

Absolutely the best professor I have had throughout my academic carrier. As a lecturer, he is clear, and concise; as a teacher, he is strict, yet willing to go the extra mile if students TRY; as a person, he is kind and considerate. He teaches his subject with fidelity, and the intent to educate, so his courses are challenging, but they're trophies.

Nice guy and would be great for philosophy. He is not clear on aspects of the class. Does not explain lecture and assignments well and goes in detail on things that are most interesting to him. He expects you to know things and gets annoyed when the class does not respond or assume you should know everything related to psychology. Only goes by lecture which is difficult because mosst things are not explained well. There is no text book to the class and doesn't seem like he uses a text book for any of his classes. He doesn't seem to have a sense of connecting with all learners. Every one does not learn the same. His approach to teaching seems to be the same which leads me to believe he does not have a diverse way of teaching students. There are many ways to teach just as there are many ways of learning. This class could be so much more if he was open to changing is approach to teaching. I value the knowlege he has and has a lot to teach but I don't think he cares to know why 50% of his classes drop and then majority still don't pass. Needless to say if you don't fit the style of his teaching method do not take his classes. I do not recommend him at all.

Dan's class is very difficult, but the tests have a built in curve. He is extremely helpful and interesting. I took the honors section, and, while his class was challenging, it was genuinely interesting for a subject I'm not interested in. Sometimes he seemed to forget he was teaching an intro-level class, but he is awesome!

Never uses the textbook. Mandatory attendance because there are quizzes everyday. The tests are fill in the blank and essay questions. He makes this class very difficult, take one of the other professors if you are able to.

Prior to attending our first class, Dan sent out an email warning all new students about how difficult his class was. Yes, you learn a LOT, but you have to give 100% to keep up - at least I did. Didn't even TOUCH the textbook, which annoyed me, and he teaches by lecture only - sucks for visual learners. Quiz every class. Take good notes and STUDY!!

I'm a horrible student. That being said, absolutely outstanding professor. First time I took perception was with another professor and I failed. Took it with Weber, B+. He's hard, and makes you work hard. Go to EVERY class, pay attention, and take notes. Flash cards were what made the difference for me. Great professor, but you gotta want it.

Weber gets a bad rep, but I thought he was great and loved the class. Quirky fellow, with a good sense of humor. He lectured very "old school," by simply speaking as we took notes and occasionally showing visuals or writing on an overhead. IF YOU TAKE EXCELLENT NOTES, COME TO CLASS, AND STUDY, you should do well in his class.

Very nice man. You will like him, however his tests require that you study 18 essays. Only 3 are on the test. This is difficult because he expects complete mastery on the essays and they are only provided one week in advance. His tests have a generous curve, but getting an A is quite hard. He ignores the textbook, making preparation even harder.

One of the nicest professors I have ever had. He's funny, helpful, and knows his material. His class isn't easy, but he's very good at giving examples and helping students who are lost. I really liked him a lot, even though I'm an engineering major who normally doesn't like psychology. Highly recommended!

Space & Time Capstone: NO textbook. Attendance isn't mandatory but he deducts each additional absence (>2) proportionally as a % of your grade. 1 vocab test the 2nd week of class, with 1 paper and 1 comprehensive final exam YOU MUST ATTEND AND TAKE DETAILED NOTES if you expect to pass. There is no opportunity for bonus points and doesnt curve EVER!

I found the class really hard because there was no textbook. The tests were too difficult he requires you to do 3 essays that are worth 20 pts each, so if you mess up on those essays you will fail. I also found Dan unorganized. He gets smart when you ask him a question that he thinks you should know.Do not take him for intro psy take someone else!!!
