Dr. Carpenter was a great teacher! In the class you have to do a creative project so if you are not creative at all, I do not recommend. The class is overall super easy and its fun to be in! I recommend!

Dr. C is great! There is a lot of writing involved, but it's nothing too difficult: short responses, three papers, and journaling. She's very passionate about what she teaches. She's an opinionated person and has a strong personality, but she's also very kind and funny. Although seminar is not the most exciting class, she made it enjoyable.

Dr. C is wonderful professor. She teaches with such passion that she inspires me to write better. She encourages all of her students to write what needs to be written. The class is structured very well, and the workshops are less stressful than you think they'd be. She also is more than willing to help you, if you ask.

This is a very fun and chill class. She does make you write a lot but she also keeps you from doing the dreaded "yes-no paper" . I loved attending her class because it was something different every time. If you love new things and wanting to learn how to be a better artist or to better express yourself, this is the class and the teacher for you.

Dr. C is one of the best teachers at Lipscomb. Those who don't like her "worldview" are probably conservative pinheads who hate being confronted with open minded ideas. If you like to expand your view of the world around and learn how to really read and analyze a text you will love her.

I loved her class. It was like being in another world. She can take the most boring material and make it come alive. Hands down my favorite english teacher. Her tests are a little hard. The best thing that helped me was to take notes of the reading material. She does have some interesting personal view on things.

Dr. Carpenter is one of the best teachers I've known. She's extremely intelligent and works her students hard, but cares deeply that they see the significance in what they're learning. No rote memorization, no incomprehensible lectures, no humorlessness. She's incredible and (now) my muse.

She isn't for those looking for an easy A; she rightfully demands a lot out of her students because she's trying to teach them analytical skills they'll use in the everyday world.
