Comment:

Great professor, though not necessarily an easy one. Dementiev expects you to work hard for your grades, especially in programming courses. May seem a little intimidating at first, but he's actually a good guy and is more than willing to help if you ask for it. Take him if you really want to learn the subject. You'll get what you put into it.

This guy has a very good and broad knowledge of the field, got a lot to pass on in the field. Altho his ways can be intimidating, his classes get very challenging and usually become a pain in the neck, maybe b/c you got to jam your brain with way too much in one semester. But ifyou stickin till the end, you'll feel great about ur accomplisments.

Uber sarcastic, but that's one of his strengths to me. He's relatively clear with his instructions and what he expects, but the accent may be a turn off to a few. Not afraid to tell you if you've asked a rather dumb question... And, for some reason, this man from northern Russia is always cold...

Ive had Dementiev for two classes, Algorithms and Advanced C++ programming. Overall I havent enjoyed the classes. He seems tough to approach and when I have asked him questions he makes me feel dumb. If at all possible, take someone else.
