Comment:

Very unclear on assignments and due dates. The majority of assignments have little to no relevance to the class. Class time is a waste and is spent looking at whatever game or video he's amused with on that day. No grades are given until after the final so you have no idea where you stand in the class. Overall I learned very little in the class.

Dr. Carlsen was not helpful in providing specific instruction towards course requirements. He was very unclear throughout the class and continuously changes his mind when assignments are assigned or due. I learned absolutely nothing in this course. He will not give timely feedback if you need help. I had to wait a week or longer to hear anything.

Good professor! Class is really helpful for future teachers and you learn some really neat things! Due dates are not really enforced which can be convenient when you have a lot of work in other classes! Definitely recommend him!

No clarity in requirements, things changed constantly. Made me feel like work I was doing was not worthwhile, because I had no clue if it was going to be counted at any point even though I was spending a lot of time on it.

I changed my major because of him. He helped me find myself. If making your our decisions in something you care about you should take him. He won't spoon feed you but he's always been available for me. Don't take him unless you mant to think.

The professor is very nice, but despite several complaints from other students, he has not posted most grades in class so we have no idea where we stand-2 weeks before finals! Grades he has posted were unsatisfactory due to vague guidelines and there is no communication, he does not respond to emails. Very frustrating.

very unclear about assignments and when i asked him to help, he told me to ask a classmate. But they had no idea what we were suppose to do either! HORRIBLE!

Very unclear on assignments. Never gave a clear due date for anything. Although all his technology use was cool, it was all very confusing. I still have no idea what is really going on in class, and its week 10. Very nice professor and knows what he is talking about though. Doesn't respond to emails.

Dr. Carlsen is my favorite professors. He made me think and his resources were outstanding. I learned more about leadership from him than I thought I would. I am older than most undergraduates and I work at Sinclair college. He is just great but certainly not easy. Be ready to think and please do the readings. He gave lots of work.

Carlsen is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. His expectations are very unclear but he grades harshly. It is near impossible to find out what you are supposed to do to get a good grade in this class. He goes of on tangents about unrelated things all the time. My advice is to avoid him at all costs.

This prof. is very nice, but his class was not rewarding at all. For being so involved in technology he suffers from a profound inability to communicate electronically. Class postings were never clear, emails were confusing, etc. It made it very difficult to understand what course expectations were. Not recommended.

Dr. Carlsen is a great guy. I will be honest I was confused the first few weeks of class. But after talking to him and just doing the projects, you will understand his teaching style. He is great and very very smart! Take him for class.

Dr. Carlsen is not really that bad. He won't hold your hand, but he will show you alternatives to the way you've been taught to think. He uses his own materials to teach the class, and it's kind of like searching in the dark, but when the light comes on, it's great! He says it's not about having the perfect project, but learning from your mistakes!

This teacher is a total joke. Class was easy, but learned absolutely nothing that was pertainable to the class. Most of class was used for him to show web sites he had found on the internet and he constantly tried to show that he was tech savy for being an older man. After having him for a teacher I changed majors, OL is a joke of a major.

He is a really nice guy and seems to genuinely care about his students and their success. Doesn't use book. Tests can be a little difficult. Take good notes. He lectures a lot and sometimes rambles but there was a lot of in class activities as well.
