Many thanks to Professor Daniel Bryant. Excellent as he guided all these online classes, helping to increase and improve vocabulary, common expressions used in the English language. The examples and aids that he used, were adapted to the common that the student has or lives in his real life, helping and facilitating the communication withme. Thanks

It was a blast taking Mandarin with Prof Bryant. I found myself the majority of the time interested in the class in both learning and doing well. Very fair marker and teaches quite clearly.

Profound knowledge of Chinese lang and linguistics, both Mandarin and Classical. Explains grammars in detail to native speakers of English better than anyone. Very helpful for serious students. One of the best research profs in Literary Chin in N America.

Great guy and a great sense of humor but teaching not so great. A bit on the boring side, though he does try. tends to go off on tangents that only confuse you. was open to suggestions in terms of teaching style though so he gets points for that.

I realize that actually teaching the course and speaking Chinese in class takes away from precious and valuable sleeping time, but you're supposed to be speaking the damned language if you expect your students to learn anything at all!

Just not a good prof. I learned much more Chinese in 150 with another teacher than I did in 249. Not recommended.

The worst language teacher I've ever had. Maybe, 2 minutes of the entire class he speaks Chinese, the rest of the time he rambles on in English. And he's boring. If you have any choice at all, take Prof. King's Chinese class instead!!

Boring as hell. Very light course load. Doesn't have a very good command over spoken Chinese, but knowledge of literary Chinese is decent. Oh did I mention the class is extremely boring? If taking Chinese language courses, recommend Dr. King.
