Funny Teacher! College Physics is hard, no question about it. To pass, attend all the classes, take notes and do the homework problems. If you do all of this, you'll be fine. The labs are easy and match the lecture very well. He is sarcastic though, not a big deal but, get ready. Remember mg points straight down!

Hands down, the best Physics professor at JCCC (in my experience). Typically the only people that don't like him simply failed the class and couldn't keep up with the rigorous studies of engineering physics. He is Hilarious and gives excellent notes over the material. You must give this class your best effort to succeed!

The first force I label, the most important force in the world is the WEIGHT, mg, which acts STRAIGHT DOWN! Martinez is great. One of the best profs I've ever had. Tests are pretty tough, but it's engineering phys so what do you expect? Highly entertaining lectures, knowledgeable professor, you can't go wrong.

I had so much in his class even if it was challenging, but hey it's Physics!. If you're oversensitive & LAZY don't take him coz he's really sarcastic, but I enjoyed it and that made learning experience fun. Gotta study hard for his exams & DO the HOMEWORKS! YES THEY HELP. I got a 96% on one of the exams in his PHYS II class though."101 students"lol

Martinez knows all there is to know about physics, & has an effective method of teaching through stories, etc, but he can catch you off guard when he'll (softly?) make fun of an answer if you just make a guess. It really helps you remember the topic, though. Fair grader, but tests were very difficult - DO HOMEWORK + ask him to solve them in class!

I spent the entire summer class trying to figure out if there was a personality behind all of the sarcasm. The jury's still out on that verdict. He's a great teacher, but he can be somewhat rude. And by "somewhat", I mean "very". I learned a lot, though, and he had excellent examples to help you remember things.

Class is hard, but you will learn a lot. Be ready to take on hard tests, all I can recommend is to really do the homework, and not just copy answers, actually understand the concept. Also recommend re-doing from scratch all of the problems he did as examples, and you will get an easy B at least. Don't slack on the labs, they will help your grade.

Professor Martinez is clear and concise and throws in a good amount of humor into his lectures. I was amazed by the time spent reviewing questions on homework in order to insure that students understood the material completely. Lectures go by quickly because there is so much material to go over, so make sure to take good notes. DO THE HOMEWORK.

He's very sarcastic during his lectures and can come off as rude, but don't let that fool you. He is a great teacher, will answer any question you give him. Take thorough notes; his examples are excellent. My notes were my best resource when studying for tests. Note: If you are over sensitive, or you hate physics andor humor, don't take his class.

Made two mistakes and had neither the intelligence or integrity to acknowledge. Twisted. Equating a newton and a quarter pounded, relished gong to McDonald's ande befuddling worker by asking for a newton. Reads off notes - how can students be expected to remember long derivations if teacher can't. Very disappointing teacher.

Really funny guy. Can be intimidating to overly-sensitive people. He just wants to weed out the slackers. Labs are fairly easy and he leads you "by the nose" through them. If you want to get an A you must do the homework and rework the examples from the notes.
