Great professor. Made history interesting but yes there were a couple of slow days. The midterm and final questions were given out in advance but that doesn't necessarily make them easy. Tests are based on the reading so make sure you do them. The class is not too hard. Do the work and you'll get an A.

Great professor! It's obvious he really loves history. His lectures are very interesting, and the tests aren't tough at all. You just have to be prepared, which is made easier by the fact that he gives you the questions in advance. Do the reading, go to class, and you will get a good grade.

Vickers is amazing! His lectures were really interesting (although didn't have much to do with midterms). Lots of reading, but it is generally interesting too. Final is a lotttt of writing and you have to be prepared. Sucky part is you can't have your own interpretaion of texts, have to write theirs

he is freakin candadian. and his lectures dont mean anything till the final but you get the quetsions in advance. the TAs also go over everything that is going to be on the midterms too. just do the reading and its easy.

Easy enough class, but grading on tests in a b****. You have to know the essay questions down cold and put exactly what the TA's and the professor want to hear, or you will not do well. I'm rather disappointed.

Great prof! He managed to make the material interesting, even for people like me who have a general dislike for history courses. The exams are easy provided that you spend some time with your TA discussing the essay questions. TAKE THIS COURSE!

The class itself was interesting. The way its graded is a travesty. I understood everything, yet my bullheaded TA thought otherwise. It was my first quarter at UCSD and the jerk TA gave me a B-. Now, im in recovery mode trying to pull my GPA up.

Dr. Vickers was awesome!!!! He taught American history, and he is Canadian!!! He had the coolest point of view, and didn't teach about stupid crap...we learned the interesting side of history. His TA Lynne Huller was awesome too!!! Take this class!!!^_^
