You will learn a lot in this class, but it won't feel difficult. Her lectures can be confusing as she jumps around, so it helps to rewrite notes after class. Lots of readings that are not always discussed in class, but have papers or are on the final. She can seem scary at first, but after talking with her, she is really sweet and caring.

Professor M-L is great! She will be intimidating on the first day but don't let that sway you from taking the class. She truly cares about her students and she loves to talk about her experiences. TAKE HER CLASSES if you can!

She comes off as very intimidating and strict, but don't let that dissuade you from taking her class. She is an expert in her field and really cares about the subject matter. She talks quickly and doesn't put notes up, so you have to work quickly to write good notes. You need to be thorough in your work because she has specific expectations.

Professor Moretti-Langholtz can come off as intimidating at first, but after speaking with her numerous times outside of the classroom setting, it is obvious that she cares about the well being and progress of her students. She is incredibly knowledgeable about what she teaches, and has quite a few stories relating to her subject. Recommended

It might seem at first that Dr. Moretti-Langholtz is not responsive to her students, but after talking with her one-on-one, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find an instructor who cares more about her students and subject matter. You do need to care about the material to do well, though.

Horrible professor. Lectures are dry as bones. I hope you can write at lightning speed b/c all she does is talk at you. No powerpoint, no writing on the board. Do not expect any mercy on grades - she does not round up (79.5 was not rounded to a B-). Avoid at all costs!

Can be a condescending at points. Grades much harder on tests than on papers. Not very clear about what will be on the exam. Lots of writing, moderate reading. Talks all the way through people's presentations.

Indians of the SW: Fun variety of projects/papers (posters and maps, etc.); her lectures are a little tough to follow - jumps around in history and time periods; generally an easy grader but you MUST do the reading, which was intensive - six books in 12 weeks. GO TO CLASS and read the material and should do fine.

A lot of reading, but the class is on a very broad topic. Information content very dense. Show up to class and participate. Exams are long and tough, and she grades a little harshly on them, but the papers are fairly easy to crank out. Knows and loves her subject. Had an awesome TA this semester.

This professor is extremely informed on her subject. The class is great, but those who aren't interested in the subject will find it difficult. This woman has been in the field a while and she offers a refreshingly frank analysis of Native American cultures today. If you can't handle anthropology stripped of its PC slant, don't take this class.

Very interesting lectures, I thought. She is never condescending and you can tell she loves what she is teaching. There is a lot of reading, but the exams are content based and the papers are not especially difficult. I strongly recommend her, you will learn a lot.

I told her IN CLASS that I wasn't interested. She still decided I was her favorite. EVERY class period she called on me at least once. I never read but somehow always said the right thing. After all that, she gave me a B! haha.

The worst class I have ever had taken! She was a terrible instructor. I often wished that I had some peyote so that I could make it through one of her lectures.

Class can be a little dull, with lots of notes, but the tests aren't very hard. Tests come right out of information from the notes. Not a hard grader for the papers.

This was a very interesting and easy class. Her lectures can be mind-numbingly boring at times but they are usually information-packed. Test only require a regurgitation of knowledge which makes them easier. You do learn a lot though.

Boring lecturer, teaches in very general and vague terms, allows her TA to create impossible quizzes on the most boring reading material known to man.

At first, seemingly hard and brusque, but you can see how much she cares about her work and what she's teaching. I am one among at least 9 other anthro majors who were first turned onto anthropology by her.
