I would prefer Mrs. Hegel over any of the other Spanish teachers. She is a native Spanish speaker but her English is fluent and not hard to understand. She knows exactly what to teach and how to break it down. Also she's quite entertaining without trying to be - very funny and sweet lady.

Can be confusing when explaining things. Loves group speaking exercises. Online access code needed for homework. Don't forget language lab hours and homework! Homework has 3 tries. 2 oral exams based off the A Casa book (given in class & list of potential questions) At the exam you'll randomly pick questions. You never know what you'll get so study

I found the material difficult but she was a good teacher. She is patient with all questions and all students. Very clear expectations. Kind and encouraging. She's a great teacher to take Spanish from whether you want to or just have to.

Profesora Hegel was easy, but very boring. 3:30-5:15 is wayyyy too long and a drag. She's a great Spanish teacher though. Use the office hours, and practice for the oral. Also, test 2 is a killer. Good luck!!

I loved profesor hegel! she was so understanding and helpful the entire semester. If she calls on you in class and you don't know the answer she doesn't embarrass you and make you figure it out like some professors i have had have done. she really wants everyone to pass and does all she can to make sure they do even if it takes more time than usual

Senora Hegel is a funny woman. Make sure you can understand spanish b/c that's ALL she talks in. The class is boring to sit through but her little sayings ("berv"=verb) will keep you smiling throughout the entire class!!! Study and an A is DEF possible.
