STAY AWAY. Taking this class was a mistake but I needed it for GE credit. Class does not discuss Asian American sexuality and loves to talk about conspiracy theories. Teaches mainly using YouTube videos. Good class if you don't like feminists/the government/UC Davis/political correctness. Will shoot you down if you don't agree

Dr. Hamamoto is the true truth seeker, and at the end of the day he genuinely cares about his students' futures. Students who gang-stalk his classes may believe they have a higher purpose by poorly censuring and distracting Dr. Hamamoto during his lectures, but in reality they are really disrupting other students' education. And that's not right.

Professor Hamamoto is one of a kind in UC Davis. His class is an eye-opening experience. This class is targeted toward international students, and as one myself I wish I had taken this class 4 years ago when I first landed in the States (this class is new this quarter). Professor Hamamoto will answer any question you have with insightful remarks.

Con'd: This class is pretty easy. You go to lectures once a week. It's 4 hours including film watching. It's entertaining but he makes you think and observe the world around us. I took one star off each for clarity and easiness because the weekly essay prompts are sometimes too constrained on one specific topic or a little misunderstanding.

Wow, seems like yesterday I was looking up Prof. Hamamoto's street rep right here. I was really curious about him from reading the reviews. I've always been a straight shooter when it comes to reality and hate to sugarcoat things. It's so hard to have a teacher who thinks the same way. And Prof. Hamamoto didn't disappoint. (Unfinished)

His lectures are awful, but whatever! He is very opinionated and will bark at you if you question him. He loves hearing himself talk and he constantly makes fun of other faculty members and UC Davis. He's a sad representation of a professor. Take a different class!

Cool professor, prior to coming to Davis I had taken professors that have taught similar material to Hamamoto. Alot of people may denounce his findings bc it sounds new, but he knows his stuff, and he is pretty chill during office hours as well. He shows interesting video clips. It gives you an insight on how ASAs adapted to US society.

Professor Hamamoto teaches you to be wary of the world post-graduation. Learn the history, theory, and apply them to whatever field you choose after you leave UC Davis. Even after 15 years, he still responds to my emails and phone calls and gives great advice regarding ASA issues and my professional and academic questions. He's wonderful.

Dr. Hamamoto is an awesome scholar and his lecture may not be easily understood if you are not willing to think beyond the boundaries of convention or have never been challenged to think carefully the topics that he raises in his class. He may appear to be a bit harsh, but that's because he truly cares about his students and what he teaches.

Has really radical ideas that open your eyes to a different perspective of the world. Some of the things he mentions in class are quite true if you conduct your own research on the side. Attendance is mandatory, don't be late. Critique the white supremacy & illuminati while applying the things he showed in class and you'll get at least a B.
