Dr. Gage makes class fun! His class was fairly easy because it was a UCC type of class, but we still learned some cool stuff! He made everyone feel equally included, even if you weren't a music major. He jokes in class and is very hilarious! The only downside was that he sometimes showed some inappropriate music videos.

Such a great guy. Not much else to say about him. Genuine great guy, it's impossible not to like him. He won't drive you crazy about attendance and assignment due dates. If you're not a music guy the class obviously sucks, but he's an easy A and very easy to get along with.

Took Theory 1 with Gage Fall 2014. Absolutely awesome! The material was tough just because of my lack of experience, but he gave amazing lectures, explained everything really clearly, used a lot of great musical examples from classical, jazz, and contemporary poprock music. Also really funny, had the class laughing every class!

Darren is a great teacher and is really just a great person. Ask him about the ice cream cake story, it is a pretty awesome story. Perhaps my favorite professor I had, not even sure exactly why, he was very clear and easy to understand but it was more that he is just a legitimate good person and tremendous musician. TAKE HIS CLASS!!

Gage is so funny. The class is really interesting, YOU LEARN ABOUT NIPPLE GONGS. Some of the projects are time consuming but there is no reason to not get an A. This is coming from someone that has no prior experience studying music. I would definitely take his class again.

Prof gage is the best. Very nice person and very helpful. Grade is based on quizzes and 1 paper. Very easy stuff. Just pay attention. Gage knows his music, and you can tell he has a passion for it. Take this class with him! One of the best professors at willy p.

Prof. Gage is an amazing teacher. However, some of his lectures are boring and you can lose focus very easily. He is very chill and isn't strict or harsh in any way. You only have one oral presentation for World Music and you have about 6-8 quizzes over the course of the semester. Mostly listening to CD's and writing what you think REALLY RECOMMEND

A good teacher. Very easy and shows enthusium while teaching. Give extra credit. It is impossible to fail his class. His tests are so easy, he even offeres extra credit. He is easy grader. He really know music. Take his class, you not be disappointed.
