The class was fairly hard but he was a great teacher. Very nice guy. I recomend taking this class if you need it but don't take it as a filler because you need more math classes.

I took this class during his first semester at UMaine. Nice guy. Made the content "real" with good examples. The math majors slept or didn't attend, but I thought he was Ok. Plus, we spent one class eating Reeses Pieces and drinking apple cider.

Relaxed view of deadlines. Sometimes felt a little too much like a computer science course: lots of programming in Matlab. Provided handouts with everything we needed to know that were very helpful.

Anyway you look at it this is a difficult subject. He really knows the subject well, grades fairly (and scales) and is very helpful if you have questions. Good sense of humor, plus there's "cider day"!

The subject matter is confusing but he does a good job of explaining it. His lectures occasionally focus too much on abstract math or go too fast.
