Comment:

We were given about 4 hours of homework a night. You HAVE to do it b/c he spends 1st half of each class randomly calling on students to answer track who did homework. Tests are hard and extremely long. He gives 3 hours to take the test, in a 2 hour class, so that speaks to the length of exams. Hopefully you don't have a class scheduled right after.

Dr. Law is the best Accounting professor at YSU. He will make sure that you know your stuff. He truly cares about his students and he does everything he possibly can to get us to pass the class. The homework is grueling, but it's well worth it when it comes to the exams and the quizzes. Just show up, ask questions, do the work, and you'll pass.

You have to go to class to know what is going on. He assigns homework for your benefit and if you do it you will pass. He is very understanding with slow learning and always will break it down further. I've taken him twice and registered for a third class with him.

Great Professor, even though he gives a lot of homework it helps to really understand the material. Tests aren't difficult at all as long as you're organized and go to class. He takes attendance for a grade, so you need to go to class. Very nice guy as long as you take the time to try to learn.

Hard exterior, but very kind and understanding. Gives you a lot of work, but it is needed in order to understand what is going on in class. Tests are exactly like the homework, so do the homework and you will pass. Great guy and makes class interesting, you also learn a lot. Group project at the end but graded individually.

Dr. Law is a great professor and cares about his students. If you want to learn and understand accounting and get the most out of taking this course, take it with Dr. Law. The homework that he gives is not mandatory, but when it comes to checking the homework, he will call on you randomly for points. If you don't have it ready, he'll dock you.

This is an excellent professor. He is demanding but fair. The course was entertaining, to me, as far as summer school can be. Though, if taking over the summer, be advised there is a lot of outside the classroom work. I wholeheartedly endorse and recommend him for Financial and Intermediate Accounting.

He's a really great guy. (Please laugh at his jokes, he deserves it.) Everyone says his tests are hard, but they're just like the homework; do the homework & understand it and you'll be fine. Sometimes his lectures can be confusing, but you can clarify stuff pretty easily by asking questions or looking at the book.

Dr. Law is by far the best accounting professor I've had. He makes the class challenging but it's with the best of intentions. You WILL work for the grade you earn. Mandatory is a must and you must keep up with homework and practice because exams are long. Overall, Dr Law is a great professor and an even better person, he will go above and beyond.

Don't let the HW scare you. Dr. Law is by far one of the most intelligent professors I've had the pleasure of having. I found this course to be easy for me, because I did the HW & never missed class. I hope that I schedule with him for Intermediate. I learned so much & he made me gain some kind of valued passion for my future career. Highly rec.

Dr Law sets clear expectations. You should read the material and do all assigned problems before class. Work the suggested problems before the test. The tests are very fair, based exactly on the homework problems. Dr Law has an excellent intelligent wit. He knows what it takes to be a successful student. He is in good shape for a 60-year old.

Dave Law is a genius. He will tell you straight up that if you don't put in 110% then you will never pass the class. He's the head of the department and wants to see us flourish as students. He gives out a lot of homework and he builds his lectures around them. If you don't do the homework you're done for. Amazing professor and very challenging.

Dr. Law worked in industry as an accountant and it is blatantly obvious. He is very staunch when it comes to learning the material and will make you work for it. Expect comprehensive weekly homework assignments assigned before lecture. Dr. Law gives very helpful and informative lectures and demands the best out of his students. Would recommend.

Very tricky class for Intermediate Accounting 1. Expects you to do chapters of homework weeks before it's discussed in class. Exams are grueling. He's tough but once you understand the material you'll never forget it.

Prepare for the most homework you have ever had. I would not recommend taking with other hard classes. His exams are LONG. I find that it is hard to learn in this class because I am so overwhelmed with the amount of homework. He tells you to email him if you need help but never replies. Genuinely cares but hard professor.

The class is tough. You have a lot of homework, which takes forever. The tests are difficult. But Dr. Law is a good professor and if you go to class, pay attention, and keep up with the homework you'll get a good grade.
