Lectures can be a little long occasionally, but he is such a great man to know in the Communication school. He has so many connections and he is someone you should have at least once in college. He's the nicest professor I had this semester and is really straightforward about exams. He is really willing to help you out to get the grade you want.

Be prepared for longggg, boring classes with him. He talks nonstop and always tries to fill up the entire class period. He won't even be discussing things on your test most of the time because he goes off on so many tangents. Do the practice quizzes because 10 of 15 will be on your test exactly how they are on the practice.

Professor Steinberg is really fair and committed to his students. Lectures were a bit long at times, but I think it was because this was an evening class that met once a week until 9:05 pm everyone was tired.

Dave is the man. Attendance mandatory, but the class is extremely laid back and tolerable. The assignments are interesting and he allows you to present about your own interests. Very useful in improving your public speaking skills, but be prepared for him to critique your speeches in front of the class.

This class is policy debate. Dave's been doing it since forever so he's a good source for info. The "class" really is a free 1 credit; all that Dave requires is A) you're part of the team (meaning you come to meetings) and B) put in effort (do a bit of research or go to 1 tournament). We travel all over the country for free as a perk =)

exams, very easy, with some questions ripped right from the textbook website (good to know!). lectures were a jumbled mess, he's just not cut out to teach...he basically reads from the book, stopping at the most inopportune times to say something unrelated and confusing. he dropped the homework assignments a month in, they werent difficult anyways

His class is boring but the tests can be easy if you study the flash card and do the practice tests on the textbook's internet. I did bad on the first exam because there were six chapters, he understood us and change every exam to three chapter and it was pretty easy in that way. He also drop the lowest score and he curves! he takes attendance!

very nice professor, BUT the class itself was a mess...it felt like a painful waste of time. It seemed as if we were just meeting twice a week to chat about random stuff. Not recommended very highly if you value your time and quality of class. TESTS are completely textbook based - b/c not much is covered in class discussion

Debate Team! Definitely recommend you joining. Travel for free across the country to different schools. Intense time commitment though (as in you'll spend entire weekends traveling and a lot of time during week preparing). Dave himself is pretty laid back, an old school debater. A lot of the work is up to you. Scholarships for those who need Free A

No complaints on Dave. I certainly agree that he is a very down to earth fellow and genuinely wants you to succeed. He does go on tangents and has a very casual teaching style. If you pay attention in class, and actually do some reading at home (preferred deity forbid), you'll do just fine. He is very knowledgeable and equally helpful. Recommended.

Too bad a couple of these people could not give coherent reasons for trashing this guy. He runs all over the country with the debate team and is a national leader. Sure, that's going to make him frazzled, but he knows his stuff, and puts people first.

Basically...he's a good guy at heart but he goes off on tangents very often. He's unorganized and usually going by his syllabus is pointless. THat being said i think its a great class to take if you want a good grade. When it comes down to it Dave is a very down to earth teacher who is understanding and wants people to succeed (unlike some professors). I recommend him to those that are takin a class to get a good grade not too learn much...LOL. (i've taken him two semesters in a row)
