He was my first math teacher at ECC and was awesome! If you are really interested in the class you'll be fine. This class was at 6 45 am! so people was always foolin' around and keep messing the class with their cellphones. He is a very strict teacher which is good since helps the other students to stay focus and understand the class better.

Akins' teaching style is not easy, but it IS worth it, and you WILL learn (or you'll drop early). I'm glad I took him. He doesn't screw around, and he expects you not to also. Most importantly -- follow the program specs TO THE LETTER!

Dont you ever take his class. He doesn't know how to help with students especially on our Math difficulties. I can't even remember if he encourage us and gave us his office hours. He doesn't care if we pass or fail. I drop his class in the last day of the dropping section. Now I got an A on my Math 70 NOT FROM HIM.

This was a difficult class because he is a very exigent teacher. Mr Akins is a person who likes you to study not only not be at the class. He gives you help only if you ask; he expects from you to act as a mature individual not only as a student. He is great teaching.

Honestly I dont want to lie almost 90% in our class got a difficulty to pass to his subject. He let us make an assignment, and after that he will ask us if we have any question in our assignment. If you don't ask you will not learn. He will not teach you everything, if you dont ask. Almost half of the class drop his subject. Ask them why.

I never say 'I know something about programs'. but he said 'you know about programs' after the first work. and he's always trying me to drop his course. for example, he always gave me ZERO scores on the frist turned in works, and never showed me what was wrong.(actually there was no errors.) if you know anything about CS, just don't take his one
