He is from England, so he has an amazing accent. He cracks jokes in class, and it's easy to follow along. He's laid back and easy going. If you pay attention, and take notes, you should be fine. He gives a lot of open book quizzes online. Class participation is important. One easy essay assignment in the end of semester.

Professor pays too much mind to the slackers in the class instead of focusing on the students who actually want to learn. Slow grader; took him whole semester to grade our 800 word papers. He does explain the material well. Tests are stupid easy- exactly what's in the notes, so it's fine as long as you go to class.

Don't expect to get your labs back or even the grades. I'm pretty sure he didn't even see most of ours, just gave us credit when he got too far behind. Great teacher though, just listen to the questions he asks and be patient. He wants to make sure everyone gets the concepts ON THEIR OWN before moving on.

Mr. Archer is an okay teacher, his lectures aren't horrible. His tests can be a bit tough but after the first one you can do better. And at the end of the semester he plays with grades.

Mr. Archer is a great teacher. His lectures are not difficult to understand and any math problems he uses are simple. His tests aren't hard as long as you listen in class. He uses fill in the blank, multiple choice, true/false, and matching on all his tests. He does one paper a semester and you get to pick your topic from a list he gives you.

Best advice, go to every class and get 100s on the quizzes and homework. You can be doing extremely poorly on the tests but if you're getting excellent grades on the quizzes, homework, and paper, by how he weights things, you should be able to pull off a B. His tests are brutal, hes extremely literal and doesn't do curves or partial credit.

Took him for 205 first and found it pretty difficult. Through the whole lab I wouldn't know what I was doing, then he would partially explain it at the end. I found 206 SO much better. He likes to see who's willing to work hard for their grade. STAY AFTER YOU FINISH THE EXPERIMENT. He will help you so much. I'm not the best in physics, but got an A

I took him for a basic class. I took him for PHSC 101. He graded like I was a science major. When I asked him for help, he told me to get in a group with people. He is very hard to follow and the book isn't very helpful to what he teaches. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

Straight up, Archer is an extremely difficult teacher. In lab, you will have to figure out most of the concepts on your own until the last minute of class where he sort of helps you. Best advice is to explain EVERYTHING and write EVERYTHING out, and to also go to his office to get extra help. He is a nice person though and will make you work for it

You are obviously not trying. He does study sessions every week, and no one shows up. It's not his fault if you can't understand gravity is directed down after he explains it twice. he is a very hard teacher, but it's also not an english class. it's college level physics.

Dont take him if you dont have to. but if you do - good luck, he is a terd and is no help. he gives you practice tests and homework to study on moodle but never gives you answers to them even after going to his office multiple times. he is a Pain. absolutely the worst professor I've had at mcneese so far. Anyone will agree

He is a TOUGH teacher. However, the way he teaches can be confusing. He teaches conceptually and not just problem after problem. Essentially, you will learn a concept, then are expected to be able to do any problem of the type. I didn't even see the point in studying, it didn't help ANY.

Worst "teacher" ever! He sets out to prove he is smarter than the class. Wake up, this is an INTRO class!! We cannot remember EVERY SINGLE word you say! Almost the ENTIRE class is failing and you think it's us and not you?! What planet are you from? The goal is to teach us, not set us up for failure!! How did you become the department head anyway!?

I'm an A student, unil now. He teaches class like it's a 300-400Level. I think he believes he is helping, but he's only confusing the class. He quickly shows us how to work a problem, then puts us in groups to watch us do it wrong, then next class he quickly gives the answer. He doesn't understand that he is just confusing us. He loves to trick also

what a jerk, I had this guy when he taught at LA Tech. He's gives extensive homework, grades it unmercilessly, & has impossible exams. if i wasn't dating a guy that was majoring in physics at the time, i would have failed the class (i'm normally an A/B

Physical Science 101: Very helpful, if you just talk with him. Made class extremely entertaining and wasn't at all boring.
