Comment:
Teaching a class that is supposed to be an easy, 4 credit grade booster at William and Mary, Professor Armstrong went a bit over the top. The content was interesting, but his grading was ridiculous, assigning a "Fun" final group project worth 40% of our grade, then grading it hard and lowering everyone grade. Grading on other assignments also bad.

Amazing amazing amazing professor. Cannot emphasize this enough. So incredibly caring, truly wants you to succeed, and definitely one of the fairest graders I've had. As a senior I was surprised to find a professor I enjoyed so much outside of my major. Truly a great dude who makes physics more than do-able. Also he's hilarious. Comedic gold.

I really enjoyed having Dr. Armstrong for this class. He is really humorous and does a great job of making the material in lecture interesting as well as clear and easy to understand.

First of all, do not take this class for a GER. Prof. Armstrong tells you as much the 1st day of class, but I still decided to be stupid and take it anyway. I hated the class, but Armstrong made it bearable. Fantastic at teaching, quirky, and very helpful in office hours. Tests aren't too bad but DO NOT leave problem sets for the night before.

Love Prof Armstrong. Hate Physics. He explained things very well. Then I missed a couple classes and got too far behind. Hard 101 class but if you can keep up youll be fine. I just should have done more at the beg of the semester.

Prof Armstrong is the most helpful teacher. He is a genius, but he is able to explain concepts in a way that makes sense to a college student simply taking this course as a Prerequsite. His passion and love for physics makes you want to do well, and, because of this, most students end up getting at least a B in this class.

Armstrong is really goofy, so if you are into cheesy jokes and such, he is good as far as that goes. Tests are made up of a small number of large problems rather than many small problems. He explains things clearly and is willing to give help and point you to the resources at your disposal.

In high school, I absolutely despised physics. I could never understand how to approach and solve a problem. Dr. Armstrong, however, made me love it. His love for teaching almost outdoes his love for physics. He takes complex ideas and simplifies it down for you. Great professor - made physics interesting and fun.

Armstrong is great. Physics not so much. I really only had problems interpreting the word problems, but I had a lot of problems with that. Wish physics wasn't required for my major

Physics was difficult for me not because of Armstrong but because I'm just not a science person. That said, his lectures and the resources he made available really helped me to get through an extremely tough class with a non-abhorrent grade. He has very good explanations of the material and if you're taking 101 I would recommend him.

As others have mentioned, Professor Armstrong should be the lecture professor! He is so helpful and breaks down difficult physics problems. I wouldn't have done so well in this class if it weren't for him!

Armstrong is great, very good at explaining book problems. I wish he was the lecturer instead of the discussion professor. Very helpful during office hours and in class. I would have enjoyed problem set alot more if it wasnt at 9 in the morning

Prof. Armstrong is extremely well-prepared, thorough, clear, and all-around engaging. He starts off class with a cartoon or two about physics (usually pertaining to the lecture), and expect wonderfully corny jokes, many extrapolations to physics in real life, and often interesting historical accounts. Overall: GREAT teacher; hard (but fair) exams.

My favorite science professor at W and M:) Wonderfully organized lectures which made EandM somewhat bearable. Told atleast one corny joke per class. As a hater of physics, I was pleasantly surprised by the class. If you have to take physics, he is your best bet.

Armstrong brings enthusiasm to the classroom every day even when the class is lame and doesn't laugh at his corny jokes. He makes this difficult subject make a lot more sense, tests are fair, and he's extreamly helpful. Made me interetested in learning more about this subject (and I'm really not a physics person)

Superb professor. His demonstrations, though sometimes pretty cooky, were very clear and really brought physics to life for me.
