Comment:
Dr. Kamela was clearly very passionate and educated about the subject, but he did not understand that the majority of the class had never seen physics before. Class was WAY too tough I'm surprised I made it out alive.

Area of Strength: Providing office hours for students to come talk with him. Needs work on: -Assigning clear coursework -Not getting frustrated with students because they are not all STEM majors. -Assigning appropriate level material (gave us 300 level work in a 100 level). -Communicating expectations and guidelines -So much more

With out a doubt the worst professor I have ever had. Have not done a single physics problem. It is an intro class and all we do is code with python. The joke is that no one knows how to use it because we all have 0 coding experience. Everyone cheats on the quizzes and hw . The other professors think hes an idiot. Should say everything.

Lots of work and very difficult for a 100 level class. I worked harder in this class then all the upper level courses I have taken. Lots of group projects and homework was often confusing.

he's way too smart to be a professor, he's so knowledgeable about the subject he can't explain it. If he didn't take attendance I wouldn't have needed to go to class it doesn't help unless its a review day. But attendance is required and there are pop quizzes.

We most of the time doing tedious, confusing worksheets. It seems that he makes a lot of his worksheets, and many of them have unclear, if any, directions. If you're not a math person, this class can be very challenging (especially without extra help such as tutoring.) The grading scale helps, but I'd rather just actually learn something.

this guy REALLY knows his stuff that would be awesome if he wasn't an IDIOT! This man attempted to give me a "45" on my final presentation in the class, because i apparently did not submit my paper. I then asked him to check his email in class... he said it wasn't there... i walked to the computer to see it on the FIRST PAGE of his inbox... IDIOT

Dr. Kamela is truly gifted at explaining ideas and more complex ideas to students. He has confirmed my interest in physics, and is the reason I will most likely go on to major in the subject. He is one of the most genuine people I have met, and is so excited to have his students finally 'get' it. This man will teach you something.

He can be extremely boring and sometimes difficult to understand due to his accent, but he doesn't make the class harder than it needs to be. His tests are a lot like the homework that he assigns. Not the worst.

This was one hard class!!! But I would not take it with any other professor. Kamela really challenges you but is friendly and really tries to help. Even though he tries to help you he is just too smart sometimes to dumb it down for you. If you go to every class and work hard you can get a decent grade, but plan on spending time outside class!!

Confusing. Unclear. Uses Mastering Physics and the textbook to teach the whole class for him. If I wanted to learn that way I would have bought the book and skipped the class.

had him for both sections.Great guy. He will take the time to explain what you dont know, given that can be alot of material at times. very approchable and genuinely interested in his students. his grading scale is AMAZING. 85 is still an A and your lowest test is replaced by the final exam grade if higher. very funny too.

His grading scale is very wide (wider than the standard), so grades are usually higher than they look. Pretty boring in class, but helpful if you just ask. Eager to teach, and likes to help outside of class, all you have to do is ask.
