This teacher seemed like an idiot at first but then you realize he genuinely means well. Go to his office hours and get to know him it will definitely help your grade. If he sees you put effort he will definitely bump your grade. I think he would've been a better professor if SDSU wouldn't have given him the class 2 weeks into the semester.

He was a fun professor. We would play games and do a lot of activitues (like class skits and stuff). He wants his students to do well and it shows. The tests were hard but he tries to help you out as much as he can. I would recommend him for this course

If you have to take Spanish this is the prof to have! He is really kind and makes class fun. He understands that spanish is a requirement and makes it interesting for the students who wouldn't be there otherwise. Just like every language class you have to go to class to do well, but if you go you will do well and have fun!

He often made class fun and easy. He did a lot of activities to lighten up the atmosphere and teach at the same time. It was a piece of cake. Tests are too easy. He takes roll, and assigns the lab work, though. But really, that's college. Deal with it. It's not hard at all, and he really cares about his students. Take his class!

No need to worry if you need this course for ge req.-you will learn spanish in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Becerra was my favorite spanish teacher. Don't miss class, study the vocab, and try to speak in spanish during class. You'll get an "A" and HW is light and exams are EZ. He turned me into a span. Minor!!..his class fills up fast.

he speaks very quickly. hes one of the only teachers i know that acually makes students do lab work in the lab. as long as you go to class and acually read what he requires you should be ok. you need the book!

What can I say? I pretty much hated this guy and the way he teaches. Half the class was him reviewing things we had learned in 103 and the other half was group work to come up with skits to act out at the end of class, but guess what? We all spoke in english to come up with the dialogue so we didn't learn much? Avoid this guy at all costs.

If you complete your assignments and attend class, you will not have a problem. Expect to participate in class. Prof. Becerra is very funny and helpful; he will explain things until it is understood and is available for help if you ask for it. He gives you credit for attempting and does not make you feel bad for being incorrect. Very enjoyable!

Hmm..not so much. Fairly easy class, but not good for actually expanding your spanish skills. Class is a complete repeat of 103 so there is little teaching and a lot of general recall. Must act out ridiculous skits EVERY class which are generally pointless and in no way further your spanish ability.

The class is fairly easy. The professor is very nice. However if you really want to learn Spanish I would recommend taking someone else. Most of the class time you spent preparing for presentations, discussing it in English in the groups.

Becerra is great! It is exactly what I was looking for in a Spanish class. He is excellent at speaking the language the entire time, which is important in order to get an ear for the language. I highly recommend him!

Most class time is based around the class getting up & working out these riduculous skits. If you are suspected to be a native speaker, he can be unpleasant. Gets impatient when forced to re-explain grammar points. Take class from another.

Prof. Becerra is an outstanding spanish teacher he is very helpful and patient if you are having trouble, he takes time to help if you need it. He does call you in class but it helps you learn. Makes learning spanish fun.
