This prof will leave you hurting. Original ideas are met with poor grades. I went to this professor several times for help on papers and after following his advice I still recieved below a C because he didn't agree with my arguments. The only thing that kept me from failing was the exams which I recieved high marks which proved I knew my materials.

Totally, ruthlessly amazing. Class discussion is stimulating and entertaining- Bergeron is a distinguished Shakespearean scholar who really knows his stuff. Doesn't put up with drivel or laziness- don't take this class if you're looking for an easy ride. Is a very difficult grader and will really whip your writing into shape.

Bergeron is very stuck-up and one of the hardest teachers I have ever had... and not in a good way. Leads good class discussions, but then expects you to read one of Shakespeare's plays on your own and understand and grasp every literary concept... very unfair. Grade does not reflect amount of work put in. Avoid him as a teacher at all costs.

Very hard, but excellent. Interesting lectures. Promotes class discussion. Very nice in person- be sure to visit his office hours. Really holds essays to a high standard- take them VERY seriously.

He's a jerk. He won't tell you what he wants and just expects you to be able to read his mind. He's deregatory towards views of Shakespeare that don't fit into his preconcieved notions. He creates unnecessary work and is pretty much just ill-natured.
