Besides being very dull and dry in class, he requires you to do all the readings. With a typical student at Western University, it's very hard to do all those readings required and stay on track of it all. Do not be fooled by his midterms. I thought about whats important and memorized but his questions will often make your brain go blank

Very smart man, but horrible teaching style. Does not answer questions during office hours and seems to purposely look for very fine details during mid-terms and exams. Additionally, he has quizzes on the readings that ask very precise questions - even if you do the readings there is a possibility you might not know the answers! Avoid if you can.

Probably the hardest prof I've had in university. He is very enthusiastic about what he teaches however, the way he conducts his lectures are very unorganized. I wouldn't recommend taking his class unless it is required. Also arguing over increased grades is pointless with him

AWESOME PROF! When asked for extra help he spent one on one time explaining things to me that I didn't understand. He is very thorough and wants to make sure that all his students understand him in order to move on. There is a lot of work and you MUST attend class b/c of the info load but if you're interested its worth it. If not, don't even bother

I don't get the hate, frankly. His is probably the most useful class I've taken for my degree - I've learned TONS and I find the material fascinating. It's true you have to work hard to get good marks, but it's such interesting and important info that who cares! I don't find him boring either in the least. Great prof!

awful, awful, awful. Material is interesting, but he takes the life out of it. He's a hard marker, and you have to be on the same page as him. If you're not.. watch out! He looks for specifics. Quizzes frequently, do the readings! Try and avoid if possible... your grades will suffer.

Do ALL the readings (bc he will quiz you), attend EVERY class, contribute MEANINGFULLY, and make an EFFORT on assignments, and you will do VERY WELL (bc those who don't are punished disproportionately, so there's lots of marks left over.) He really has it out for coasters and bs-ers, so beware. You will actually learn in his classes. He is fair.

He takes his job very seriously, and has high expectations of his students. Token private school brats from Toronto, who think they can use their charm to do well in this course, will be in for a rude awakening. But if you come to class, participate, and work hard, you will do well. He is a reasonable man.

Ive had Blair 3 times. He is arrogant, mean-spirited, and vindictive. I learned the material in spite of him, and it is possible to do respectably well in his class, but save yourself the trouble. He is the worst proffesor I have ever had.

Good god this man is aweful. I received the lowest mark I ever got at UWO in his course. Stay far, far away. Arrogant SOB with no concept of reality...provides little direction to his students. I left the class early several times and he ripped up my quizes in front of my classmates. Fully agree that his lectures are biased.
