Good teacher. Lots of funny/awkward nerd humour. Study the course notes and homework assignments(but not the textbook)meticulously and you will do great. He likes to test you on proofs/theorems that he derived in class.

Great teacher for this advanced course. I can see why students in easier courses not designed for math majors wouldn't work as well with his style. Class time is mostly spent on proofs and proof strategies, while applications are left to the homework.

nice guy,but so not organized, his teaching sucks, lecture is confusing, he is very ineffective lecturer. The worst thing is the class average is 63, the lowest average I have ever seen.

Comment:
His lectures are very ineffective. Spends 90% of the time talking, and only 10% writing on the board. He rarely gives examples, and when he does they are rather trivial in nature. Puts too much emphasis on proofs, and not enough emphasis on applications. He's smirky, and it's annoying. Homework was marked absurdly hard. Avoid him if you can!

Doesn't explain things very well, the assignments cover material that hasn't been taught yet, on purpose. The assignments are also marked ridiculously hard. He is very unclear in office hours as well. Avoid this professor if you can.

Comment:
His lectures were pretty much useless, and the only reason to attend was some sections weren't in the book/he refused to follow the book. A lot of self learning is required, much more than usual profs. Highlight of course, 'How do we know how many balls in each jar in after n iterations? We ask the jars!' and goes onto write a formula on the board

Comment:
He teaches an insanely hard course to begin with and assumes that the students understand certain concepts which they haven't learnt. uses very very little examples to illustrate the point and if examples are given, they are horrendously abstract. suitable for students who are very smart, but not for the average or above average student.

Especially helpful in his office hours. The notes you take from the blackboard will be just as useful as the textbook when you study for the final.

Exams seemed fair after I actually started studying for them :) He knows the stuff, but doesn't explain it very well - gets himself confused often. Not a very good honours instructor, but I did learn quite a bit about proofs in linear algebra.

Disorganized, *always* late for class and then makes the class stay late to make up for it, gets confused about the material and makes the class confused.
