Cranky, but helpful (for his quizzes, at least). the examples he goes over before the quiz are very close to what is on the quiz itself. But he makes a lot of mistakes while explaining, = confusion. doesn't help much prepping you for the exam, but then again neither can anyone else on this green earth

I had him for recitation. We were always prepared for quizzes well. He explained complicated Chem 2 issues very well and the concepts behind those things.

Dr. Carlson is very helpful and easy to approach when you have a question. He is also very good at explaining concepts to students. Nice guy, good prof.

he wasn't a good teacher! he didn't link concepts together it was just a bunch of facts thrown at the class. his tests didn't actually test if you knew the material well...nice guy but I wouldn't take him ever again.

Don't take this professor. He's not good at giving lectures, therefore he uses countless slides to teach the class. He hardly knows what he is talking about. Maybe he should enroll in a chemistry class. By the way, his exams don't make sense. If ur looking for an easy A, don't bother. 1/2 the class will drop after the 1st exam

Great class. Everything straightforward and it wasn't hard as long as you attend class and read a little bit.

Cool guy...with a variety of cooky t shirts. One was Cookie Monster. another Oscar the grouch i think....i forget all of them but I had started writing them down in my notes. Also he has lots of enthusiasm for the class. He's pretty clear. His notes are fairly organized. Him and seigal are good. Fair with grading as well. wish they taught 162

WOW...SOOO much better than Seigel even though the material was harder in the second half of the semester. Not nearly as dull, and explains complex concepts with some clarity, and he wears some funky shirts. He also doesn't mind answering questions to ensure understanding.
