Nice guy overall, knows his stuff, but for the class I had he did lil to no work as a prof. Typical of profs who've been tenured and doing the same thing for 20 yrs. No disrespect, but I dont find value in a teacher coming in, sitting down, & asking students what they thought of the 8 books they had to read and discussing them. Should educate more

Dr. Chambers is one of my favorite professors. This is the third class of his that I've taken, and I've never been disappointed. Last semester I went through a tough personal time, and he helped me so much. He gave me an I (Incomplete) and let me turn work in at my pace, when he could have simply failed me. Fair grader, fun lectures. I adore him!

Chambers has a way to make some thing that could take 15 minutes last an entire class. He has the voice of Ed Schultz and the body of GerryLarryGary from Parks and Rec. I'm a political science major and a history buff, so I can't speak for the majority, but I found his class pretty interesting and worth-while. Not all professors can be GrandSlams

Good dude, but this class shouldn't be a intro level class. 4 tests, including the final, which is cumulative. Attendance not mandatory, but go to see what he talks about that's not course material. He only gave my class 1 extra credit assignment, so that didn't help much. Lots of reading. Just not a fun class.

Dr. Chambers is a good guy, but his teaching style isn't that good. He lectures the whole class with powerpoint slides and goes fast at times to take notes. His test are hard and you do need to study. It didn't seem like a basic american politics class too me at all.

When it comes to Dr. Chambers if you're a Poly Sci, Crim, Computer Science Major, ect. you will enjoy this class. We often to discuss current events, but they relate to the class and his papers are fairly easy. He will guide you through. Trust me he is an awesome professor.

Chambers is a really nice guy and is always good for a laugh every now and then. The class can be confusing and overwhelming at times though. Only 4 grades so all of them count as a major contributor to your grade. Readings are extremelly important for success in this class. challenging to take notes at times but this class is mostly studying

Dr. Chambers was one of the most memorable professors I have ever had. He is kind and very approachable. I always got involved in the discussions and he was great as an advisor. I still stay in contact with him 6 years later. Dr Chambers definately takes into account your participation in class while grading. Big Dave is the man!!

Dr. Chambers is one of the nicest professors on campus. Anyone who talks badly about him doesn't have a sense of humor at all. He may ramble about current events a little too often, but he's helpful and cares about his students. I'd take another class of his, for sure.

I took this class my freshmen yeah and everything came straight out of the text book. Nothing he talks about in class is in the 4 exams he give the whole semester. His lectures are BORING. Do not buy the book rent it or share a book because you can not sell the book back.

Dr. Chambers is an interesting man. About half of the class is spent on current events and the other half is spent on the constitution. Tests are somewhat easy, but he always gives extra credit after the test to improve your score. Only 4 grades though.

Anybody who says anything bad about Dr. Chambers doesn't belong in college. He's an interesting guy to get to know. So what if he gets off topic... its entertaining to listen to. The last couple of classes I took with him, I got solid As and I learned a lot. There are other LS classes other than PLSC 111 if you hate his classes. But nobody should.

Horrible. Just horrible. It's not that he can't teach, he just won't. We had a 90 min class, he spend 80 mins talking about nothing and then the last 10 min, he'd briefly talk of politics. Then the tests were hard because we didn't learn anything. Study guides meant nothing because everything on it wasn't on the test. Course was such a waste.

So if you want to learn about the Pittsburgh Pens or his personal life about how his son was at VTECH at the time of the shooting, you'd want to take this class. If you want to learn about anything about politics, don't talk this class. His study guides are pointless because none of it is on the test. The books are worthless. He's nice but stupid.

Talks more about current events than the actual course material and your entire grade is based on tests. You will want to read what he tells you too for the tests and pay attention to the major current events he talks about and you'll be fine. He's good for a good chuckle every once in a while as well.

I thought this class was going to be one of my hardest classes, but it is defiently worth the time. Dr. Chambers is really good at what he teaches, and you learn a lot from him. As far as the current events talk, all political science professors do it. Dr. Chambers just does it more often than most. He makes Research Methods as good as it can be.
