This guy was tough but definitely awesome. I learned a lot from him. I was really struggling in his class, but I never gave up. On the final exams, he did two things that are most memorable to me. He said that just being in that class taking that final exam meant that we had achieved a lot, and he let us rate final exam anywhere between 25-75%

I have now earned my BSEE degree. Although Dr. Drury has retired and future generations will not have the opportunity to have him as a professor, he absolutely made me a better engineer and I would have (and did) recommend him to other students. I just wanted to say thank you and enjoy your retirement. DJ

Has clear instruction and organized lectures, but very strict. Has no sympathy and will take every opportunity to 'reap' points. Tip: study and understand lecture notes & derivations in order to pass tests

Absolutely awful. Will take off points at any opportunity. YOU CAN HAVE NEGATIVE TEST GRADES! He teaches well but the tests go one step further than he taught, making them very difficult. In my class of 44, 21 got an F and and an additional 5 were a D. If he is your only option wait a semester. If you take him anyway, do the optional homework twice

Can be BELITTLING Arrogant, WILL FAIL YOU dont tempt him! too good at material & forgets we are learning it for first time, suggests you drop out of EE, very knowledgeable, exams weekly, no due hw, NEGATIVE TEST SCORES! No sympathy grader, Avoid unless absolutely passionate about the particular subject, if you are, hes great, if not you will be sad

He is a fair grader and helpful outside of class. I rarely did my homework but still achieved an acceptable grade in the course. I regret not doing the homework because it would have made the weekly tests a lot easier. While attendance is not mandatory, only showing up on Fridays for the test is ill advised (at least for the last 4 to 6 weeks).

He is very knowledgeable, and lectures well. He is skilled at math and expects you to be just as skilled. I like the weekly test although sometimes just doing the homework wasn't enough. Is usually in his office on weekends, which is nice if you work outside of school. Willing to help so long as your not lazy.

He knows what he is talking about inside and out. Very clear, but that does not mean it is easy. I am glad I took his class because I probably know more about circuits 1 then someone who took an "easy" teacher.

No doubt about it, he knows a thing or two but he's merciless, devoid of compassion, incapable of developing any interpersonal relationship. A heart cold enough to have just come out from Jupiter's shadow. It would take all the gold of Ophir for me to register for his class again... He's pretty funny if you're the dry sarcastic type.

He tag team taught Optics with Phil Young (physics dept still at UWP I see) (fyi, I took the class like in 1988 or 1989 or so). His enthusiasm was contagious. One lecture he was working a multi-board derivation and somewhere through the second board he stopped, turned around & declared: "I have not yet begun to derive!". Don't recall too much else.

ok....as a person, he's insane. He talks about giant rats attaching chemistry students....enough said. As a prof, he's clear on the board, hw is never due, attendence is not required, and tests are weekly. I liked his teaching, for the most part, since other statics classes had 3 tests a semester, compared to his 11-12.

dresses like a fruit cake (the purple sweater made a weekly appearance) and is a fairly goofy guy altogether. he'll give a test every week on the stuff we did the week before, which i ended up liking because if you **** up on one test that doesn't screw you over. he'll grade tough though, taking off major points for small errors. the final's hard.

Dr. Druy is your typical "mad-scientist" professor. He's a hard professor, yet he's the best. He's very thorough and professional (maybe too professional). He's funny too, but word of advice if he should read this, LAY OFF THE CAFFINEE!!!

When Labs are 50% of the final grade, it's pretty hard to fail. Drury is a very clear lecturer and really knows his subject thoroughly. The bad side is that he can be intimidating and is a bit too cold and professional.
