I had the privilege to attend Dr. Carl Ventrice's myriad classes. I took every class available to me that he taught. I own my own business now and I attribute a good deal of my success to Dr.Ventrice teaching me how to think like an engineer. Easily the best professor I've ever had. I'm so glad to see he is still melting faces.

Comment:

Dr. Ventrice is the best professor in the ECE department in my opinion. Very clear and concise. He's is also, for the most part a fair grader. He keeps class fun and interesting by either a: making fun of students, or b: making fun of society in general. Take him for eveything you can!

Is a very teacher, brilliant, and can be very helpful, however he seems to play favorites and sometimes yells at you for asking certain questions. It just depends, brilliant and excellent teacher non the less.

Highly intelligent and an expert in his field. Has vast insight on a wide range of topics. Concise and to the point lectures, no BS. No tolerance for lazy students. One of my all time favorite professors.

Comment:

The best professor in the ECE department. He's undoubtedly a genius and is very helpful to students as long as they take care to pay attention in class. Even otherwise he helps them learn.I even had him in my research advisory committee and he gave so many good suggestions towards my thesis. Dr.Ventrice Rocks!!! May God give him a long life!!

I have learned more from his class than I have in most of my other classes. He gives quizzes almost daily but if you study the material from the previous class you should do fine. He wants the students to actually think for themselves and learn the material rather than just feed him back information. Take as many classes as you can with him.

I think that he has been one of the best professors that I have ever had in my entire college career. He has been a big help in stimulating critical thinking in his students and is a professor that is there for the students. He also really cares for the student and as long as you try he will help you in every way possible to pass his classes.

This man is the teacher you want in electrical engineering. He knows everything. His classes are easy to follow. He gives you HW sheets to practice, but does not take them up. He gives about 20 quizes a semester, but he never gives quizzes unless he has given you an example which he gives lots of. I would take him for everything that you can.

Don't be scared by the grading scale on the syllabus.He doesn't follow it.Just study what he lectured in the previous class and don't overthink.Visit him in his office.I think he enjoys the company.He rarely quizes over anything that he hasn't gone over. He will sometimes seemingly insult students.Keep a thick skin and you're fine.

Listen and listen well, if you ever take a class from Ventrice, there WILL be a quiz almost every class. However he'll very rarely give you a quiz over stuff he hasn't gone over thoroughly. Tests are like quizzes, quizzes are like examples, no homework. Take good notes and READ them. Oh, and go to class every day as well, skip and you're dead.

Awesome Teacher.No Homework but 20-25 quizzes a semester. I actually studied for this class instead of doing mind-numbing homework. I enjoyed his class greatly and can not wait to take any other class he is teaching. Ventrice will make you laugh and make you study best college professor i have ever had.

Really cares about the students. Frequent quizzes make you keep up with the work, and give you something good to study for the tests. If you keep up with class, you'll get an A. Also I recently had a job interview and the interviewer said the job position was a lot like Ventrice's classes, so he knows what you'll need in the real world.

What can I say, he's a rough old goat. However the man has encyclopedic knowledge of EM fields, don't even bother with the book. If you take good notes, you should do okay on the quizzes, and if you do okay on the quizzes, you should pass the tests. Don't let his bearing in class scare you, he has a whole lot to teach if you'll just listen.

He's awesome!! He encourages you to learn more then any prof, and knows more then any prof at Tech. He's a bit rough around the edges, but go see him in his office hours. He only helps those who want to learn. Don't wait until you fail the 1st 10 quizzes, he'll help you out if u make the effort!
