He makes this class super easy to pass but to get an A is near impossible unless you have a heavy bio II background. He makes some of his test questions unnecessarily tricky. You could know all of the material like the back of your hand and still get a B just because of wording or vagueness. Really nice guy but if you need/want an A don't take him

Steady preeing @ my 89% final grade and praying to God he gives me an A :( He is a great teacher, however, but his tests needs some good thinking! Best advice: Pay very close attention to his lectures and don't miss classes--that'll be the death of you tbh. I still hope I can an A regardless, but he clearly does not believe in bonuses. Take him!

He explains this so well in his lectures and engages with the class. He also is always open to help when you need it. I love his class

extremely tough.. Only 3 tests and the final count towards the bulk of your grade. lab grade helps but lots of quizzes in lab so always take notes in lab. DONT BUY THE BOOK. Evolution paper assigned not the easiest thing to do compares science to religion ALOT

Comment:

Dr. Dussourd has intriguing lectures, and an enthusiastic attitude, however, once you get your test grades back, it's a whole new story. Less than 10% of students get A's, and his tests are harder to study for than my Organic Chemistry class. I don't know if all Biology teachers are this bad, but try your luck at getting an easier Professor.

Dr. Dussourd is a great teacher! He teaches well and expects class participation by asking questions during lecture and expecting answers. He likes to call on people! His tests come from his lectures but are very conceptual based so you must know everything. Dussourd is good at helping and loves when people come in his office! Recommended.

I had him for Bio II and Entomology. Very Helpful. Always excited when I showed up in his office, which was frequent. Show that you care about the course and he will do his best to help as much as possible. I recommend Entomology, it was a blast as far as upper level Bio goes and it's his passion.

Comment:

Nice guy. Easy to pay attention in class since he gets excited about what he is teaching. He teaches by PowerPoint & posts them online as well as study guides for each test. It is vital that you read the chapters, a lot of his test questions come from the readings. His tests are mostly short answer, some mult. choice, & T/F. Know abs. everything!

Comment:

Pretty cool teacher. Interesting personality. He loves class interaction, so be willing to answer questions. He likes to have people "discuss with their partner" so be prepared to talk. He's enthusiastic, and loves what he does, and you see it in every lecture. If you don't read or pay attention, it'll be a hard class, though. :)

Great professor, Biology is not an easy subject matter, but he makes everything clear and easy to understand. Dr. Dussourd loves what he teaches and you can tell. Go to office hours for help if you need it, he encourages you to for one on one learning. Do good on the first test, It will set your grade for the entire course. Strongly recommended.

You can tell he loves what he teaches. He uses powerpoints that he posts on webct. PRINT THEM OUT. Don't sit in the back row if you don't like to be called on. Attend all classes. He sends around a sign in sheet daily and attendance counts in the end. Tests are multiple choice, t/f, and a few short answer. There are no bonus pts. Class 2/3 lab 1/3.

He is a great professor. His test can be difficult but you just have to think about the questions. Most of them are set in a real world setting so they are practical. You will have to study for the test, quite a bit for the A. But he is the teacher to take for this class. I loved this class so much that I am considering going into teaching myself.

He is a good teacher but will not help you if you go to office hours. Do not believe in bonus. His test are somewhat hard have to use critical thinking, his questions are hard to understand, test format is multiple choice true false and 2 to 3 short answers, study the notes more then the book.

One of the best profs I have ever had. He really makes the class interesting and brings lots of real life examples to class. If taking Bio2 I would definately take him!
