Not the easiest class, but definitely informative. The professor is willing to work with you if you ask for what you want. Come to class, do the practice problems, and ASK QUESTIONS.

Demanding & confusing. Assignments overlapped entire semester (at least 2 at a time, usually 3). Students had no idea what was happening. Didn't learn anything. Turned in assignments I still don't understand. Don't bother buying textbook. I like DrElesh personally. I think he's smart & funny. This is business though so avoid his classes!

this class was on par with a physics class for how boring and confusing it was. I am an A/B student and love sociology, but I hated every minute of this class! Elesh lectured a lot but doesn't relate class discussions to homework so the course seems disjointed. He usually teaches grad students so he has unreasonably high expectations of undergrads.

I hated this class for multiple reasons. I did a substantial amount of work but I feel as if it was all worthless, he makes you do five pass or fail papers and most of the time you have no idea what your grade is going to be.

Teaches inconsistently and goes off on tangents all the time. Has trouble keeping students attention and projects are confusing and complicated without much instruction. You will turn in papers and get them back wondering what you did wrong and he still won't explain it to you.

Very challenging. I received an A only after hours grueling over papers. Asks for less than he really wants; when he says "short 1-2 pg paper" you need to write 4-5 pgs to get that A. This class will definitely set you apart if you can get a high grade. Elesh is a really funny, nice guy with a sense of humor and funny stories.

I'm not bitter, but Dr. Elesh does not realize that his class is not doable for us as undergrads. He is tough with his grading for very petty things, and he assumes we all will research for a living. Overall a nice guy but needs to rethink how he approaches teaching undergraduate research classes

He is very intelligent and knows practically anything that you can imagine. But, he's not on the same level as the rest of us...I think he's too far and beyond his students to realize that the readings were hard, the tests were even harder, and sitting through the lectures is even harder since they reach a borderline between boring and torture at t

D. Elesh is a hard grader. His Res. Meth class is not a writing intensive but the work he gives makes it seem that way. He grades papers on a pass/fail basis and he grades them very hard.

class can get boring, you have to write a weekly 2-3 page summary on about 40-60+ pages. He posts up his slides on blackboard & tests are mostly multiple choice with some short answers. He also gives study guide questions online that teams must answer. There's also a signin sheet

BORING class. He is very monotonous. Attendance mandatory. Exams are hard except final because all the questions are from the old exams which you keep. Not writing intensive course yet makes you read average 60-80+ pages for every class with 3 page summaries.

one of my favorite classes so far-interesting discussions. might get boring at times...make sure you've had enough coffee before class. the tests are hard but as long as you know whats on the practice tests you'll be fine, besides he gives huge curves and really wants you to pass.

His tests are ridiculously hard, and I am a student who studies. He really expects you to know the readings front to back and back to front. And he wanted 1+ page summaries every week also with 4 tests. A bit much for a core class.
