Comment:

Dr. Finn is so good that Rose-Hulman chooses him to be one of the professors for Rose-Hulman Accelerated Math & Physics (RHAMP). He is very good at explaining the origins on how everything comes together in calculus. The only bad thing is that sometimes he gets upset when you don't understand a poorly worded problem. Regardless, he is a great prof.

Professor Finn is an outstanding professor. You will do great on the final exam if you take his class and listen to his lectures. If you don't understand a concept, go to his office and ask for help. He gives a lot of homework to his students but it's not worth much of your grade so if you don't finish an assignment, don't worry about it.

Great instructor. His lectures are thorough, and efficient. He is caring for his students and his door to his office is always open if you ever need assistance. He does assign a lot of homework though.

Tensor calculus is very confusing, and due to the subject material, moves super fast; I have to work with friends to do any homework. But Dr. Finn is there for me. He understands when you need a mental health day, or a small extension, or to cry in his office because you don't understand something. It's his job to help you understand the material.

Finn has been my FAVORITE teacher thus far. He teaches you what you need to know, and he is ALWAYS willing to help. If I could take every math class at Rose with him as my professor, I would, but unfortunately, that isn't possible. He gives a bunch of homework, and practice problems, which help reinforce what you learn in class. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Professor assigns plenty of homework. However if you do the homework with care, you will definitely ace the final exam. Professor Finn's lectures are excellent. He is very helpful outside of class. He cares about the student's success. I recommend him if you want to have a good foundation and understanding of calculus topics.

Dr. Finn is a great math prof. His lectures were very helpful and his tests were very close to what was on the study guide. If you try in this class you will get an easy A or B. He also cares about his students a lot. He has a lot of office hours that are specifically for students to come in and get help.

Gives quite a bit of homework, but he prepares you for the quizzes and tests. Gives 50% credit back on corrections for tests, so thumbs up for that. His office hours are flexible, he even has them on Sunday nights, in case you procrastinate.

Dr. Finn is very helpful. Always very patient with the slow learners. The occasional jokes during class make them more engaging. Overall very good professor. He does give piles of homework but at the end of the day, if you do his work, the exam becomes cakewalk.

Really great professor, really focuses on sample problems than concepts, and very helpful both one-on-one and in a class setting. Gives a decent amount of homework, which seems longer because of his method to do it, but its not nightmarish. His tests arent that terrible, if you do the work before hand, and look over his non-required exercises.

Dr. Finn is an EXCELLENT prof! He gives a lot of homework, but it is very helpful in learning the material. His tests are hard, but you can redo them for some credit. He also gives hard (but manageable) projects. He really makes sure you know the material, and he has a great sense of humor. For the first time, I actually enjoyed going to Calc!

Finn was a really good prof. The projects were a bit ridiculous and he gave a ton of homework. But because of that his tests weren't that bad and I didn't need to study for the final very much. As long as you do the homework and ask questions when you have them, it's not hard at all to get a B If you're up for a big workload he's great.

Probably the best math teacher ever. He gives a lot of homework but it's not that bad. If you start it the day it is assigned you will finish it on time. Didn't have to study a lot for the final, the homework prepared me for it. Super helpful outside of class. Take him if you want to learn Calc.
