Comment:

I hated this man when I first joined his class, his leftist views are forced down your throat. However, I continued to work hard and give 100%. Gerwin saw that, and even though we were different, he was still good to me. He cares about his topic and is passionate. The work is insane but he grows on you.

Dr. David Gerwin deep down is honestly a nice guy, however his leftist socialist views shouldn't be the mere instrument for future teachers. Gerwin's view points gave me the guilt of being a so-called white person and that I shouldn't accept who I am. Don't take his courses until he figures out that we are not his research rats .

Everyone warned me not to take his course so I signed up for the other professor. First day of class, I showed up and the professor that I had signed up for had gone on sabbatical. Well, it all worked out. Dr. Gerwin was great!! People were just lazy. He was great and Iearned a lot.

Dr. Gerwin, is probably the hardest professor you'll ever have. But he is also super resourceful, understanding, and really tries hard to teach. He is one of the few that actually does know his stuff. It may seem hectic and very crazy as first but if you try to do as much as you can and show up to every class while participating; you will be fine.

He is one of the most intelligent professors I have ever met. He is a walking fountain of knowledge. However he is disorganized and not clear on what he wants. He knows so much but he can't teach. I think if he moves to the history department he will do better teaching history. Honestly I didnt learn anything in this class. It was a waste of time.

He teaches one of the two sections for a required course. if you weren't sitting at the computer the minute registration begins to sign up for the other section- you are stuck. His workload is unrealistic unless all you are doing is taking his class, no work or other classes or a life. The assignments are only useful if you go into research.
