HE IS AMAZING! You read or skim the textbook to understand the info. Be prepared to speak up in class. Everyone is supposed to share their thoughts. You are graded on few things but they're pretty easy. Don't be afraid to go to him during office hours or after class. He is so helpful. Final project is so easy if you just try a little! A+ professor

Granger is by far your best choice of professor for this class. He does take attendance every day. Easy grader, 3 SHORT papers, midterm, 1 final project, & 1 final test. Need the textbook. Syllabus says beware of pop quizzes, but he did not give us 1 the entire semester. Very laid back and easy to approach, a really good & understanding professor!

The class was very easy going and basically if you listened to what Dr. Granger said and skimmed through the book, it was a very easy class. The grades mostly relied on the midterm and the final, which were a fairly easy cakewalk. The rest was based on participation (which I was lacking in)

He is so boring. He does't ask any questions that really provoke thought, and his lectures are so dull. He asks some questions is class but mostly just talks the whole time in a monotone voice. If you want an easy class take it with him.

Comment:
Dr. Granger is a wonderful professor, and obviously knowledgeable about the topic (this class is kind of a cross between American History and the history of education), but his lectures can be kind of monotonous. It's very easy to zone out during class, but that rarely affects your grade. Just 1 presentation, 2 papers, 2 exams, and 1 big project.

Granger is by far the best professor I've had at Genseo so far. You can tell he has experience in the education field and makes it clear of his expectations on day 1. Keep up with the work and you will get an A.

This class was very easy and you can get away with not reading as much, you can read just as much as the discussion questions that you are assigned. He only gives two tests and a majority of your time that you will dedicate to this class is for the history research project. He is a very easy grader and I hope that I will have him again.

Professor Granger's class has been my favorite so far at Geneseo. He gives you a syllabus in the beginning with what you will do every day for the rest of the semester so you always know what to expect. Be prepared to read the textbook (which is not a bad read) and you will be set. Only two exams, two essays, and one final project.

Professor Granger is a really nice guy and his class is relatively easy. As long as you participate and study for the tests, you should be okay. The final project is kind of heavy but as an education major, you're kind of stuck with it no matter what you do. Overall a great teacher and very understanding and caring about his students!

Had him for HUM220, got an A with some ease. Just show up to classes, pay attention and take decent notes (along with trying to read a good chunck of material and you'll do good). We had small quiz or two, our tests were 2 shorts essays, and we had 3 essays throughout the semester. He'll help you improve your writing. Hoping to get him for HUM221.

Very easy class, He only gave 1 quiz the entire semester. 3 easy essays, and only two tests (Midterm and Final), plus he told us what the topics were for the final. There are multiple group discussions throughout the semester. Diligent note-taking during lectures, and spark-noting is plenty to get you through the discussions, essays, and tests.

Easiest class I have taken so far. Great guy, easy grader. Knows a lot about the topic. Classes are repetitive (group discussion one day, presentation the next), but I didn't mind. Only two tests.

As a last semester senior, this class was amazing! Interesting but not unnecessarily difficult or stressful. If you show up and read SparkNotes even 12 of the time, you're going to get an A.

Granger realizes that this class is a somewhat lame prereq. for education majors, and tries to make it as laid back as possible. Reading assigments once or twice a week, 3 response papers(2-3 pgs), 1 "beliefs" paper(3 pgs), 1 presentation, tests are short answer + an essay.

Take humm with granger. You will not be disappointed. Wants kids to actually get something out of the class rather than always worrying about a letter grade so his class is laid back and very easy.

Definitely recommended for Humanities. I took it the first time with a different professor and failed so I'm re-taking it with Granger and will probably get an A-. Overall, Humanities is a heavy course but Granger makes it manageable and fun.
