David Gurney is an average instructor. He gives a lot of assignments that are worth 5pts each to do. He is big on feedback, meaning he makes it clear on what you got wrong, how to fix what you got wrong or what to do better. He's pretty good with answering questions clearly.

As a teacher, absolutely terrible. Awful. Completely redundant , slow, and boring. If you want to genuinely learn statistics , and are not good at math natively, don't take. However, if you are good at math already and can figure things out for yourself. Almost everything can be done online and you can teach yourself, material is fairly easy.

He's super easy and ive gotten A's on all my test. Though he is picky about how you word the answers, so watch out for that! But he will clearly explain how he wants the answers. Other than that smooth sailing folks! Has a test review day before every test, super helpful. Easy A.

He is so easy. He goes over every problem in detail. I made A's on every test, all I did was pay attention. He has test reviews, which help a lot.

Very specific on grading, material is super easy, tests seem very easy. But you will never get an A and be lucky to get a B with his grading. Absolutely awful

He's a great teacher... he will explain anything you ask and will build the mathematics from the ground level up if you get lost or have a question - and he does not get mad like so many other professors do. Go to class and do the homework and assignments and it will allways pay off... plus he has an open door policy to ask questions. Go see him!!

SUPER picky. As on tests are easy but perfect scores are not. Pay attention to what decimal place you should round to (points are actually taken off for being "too accurate"), put as much work on your tests as possible, make sure you show up the day before each test for the review, and work all example problems online for an easy A. Take this prof.

Worst professor in my college career. To be even more specific, worst professor in my entire educational career. He is not there to help or teach. He makes is known every single day that he is furious to be in the front of the room and wants to be left alone!

Attempting to learn from Gurney was one of the most painful experiences I've had. Terrible teacher. He has a bad attitude every single day and he WILL LET YOU KNOW IT. Gets very angry at students. Grading scale is all over the place and completely subjective. He hates to give a good grade. Don't ask questions, he will make you regret it!!!

ALL OVER THE PLACE! he doesn't teach it's like hes just doing the problems to himself on the board. He goes wayyy to fast and he might do 1 or 2 promblems each thats it. He is so picky its ridiculous. Would not recommend him at all. Hes spastic. He says on the first day you will receive a c or lower he straight up says students never get an A or B

A VERY dull & BORING teacher! We had 12 assignments time consuming. 4 tests not including the final each worth 60 points. A project due at the end- I would suggest splitting the project up & doing each part along with the relatable ESA assignments. Most of the test were open book. You have to work REALLY HARD & he's very picky when grading.

Gurney is a very persise grader on homework and test. Not good at helping students understand the material. Also you have to keep track of your own grade he doesn't post any grades anywhere.

THE most boring class. Material is easy, but do not underestimate the tests bc he is VERY picky and is quick to take off if you do not do something EXACTLY like he wants. Also, analyze his grading, because I have found mistakes and have had to bring it to his attention to receive the grade I deserved. Review days are a must, ESA's are annoying

He is extremely boring. His ESA's are a pain and they will kill your grade. He does not post anything on moodle. His practice problems are exactly like the ones on the test though. He is also super boring and does not ever make eye contact with you. Do not take.

He's really easy. His practice questions online are exactly like the ones on the test. He also allows open book for some of the tests. The semester project is the only thing that is a pain. Well, the teacher himself is painfully boring...

Take HIM for Statistics. You won't be sorry! This is my second time taking Math 241. My first teacher, Clifton, was terrible. He is such a great teacher. Easy. He lays out the tests for you. Open book. Go to class everyday, though. He takes his time with the class! Complete every ESA (homework) on time, and get easy points! Take! Take!

Great teacher. I am in his class now. He basically lays out the test for you, explains how to do it and all. All you need to do is come to class and pay attention. His online page also is a great help to go to for problems you do not understand. Great professor

I had not had a math class in over 30 years. This is the teacher to take. I felt like it was "Math for Dummies". He will walk you through each problem step by step. IT IS A MUST TO ATTEND REVIEW DAY! I missed turning in 3 or 4 ESAs and finished with a high B. Had I turned them in, I would have made an A... Strictly my fault on why I made a B

His class is an easy A you just have to practice the problems & do them EXACTLY how he asks. He really hands over the test through his online webpage but is very picky with how he wants things. I averaged a B but I work fulltime. Do ESAs & project & should have no problem making an A. Last 2 tests are open book for formulas. Also go on review day.
