He is a great professor, honestly not sure why his ratings are low. He knows so much about the subject and is very friendly. His lectures are interesting. Don't be scared by the low numbers, I would definitely recommend taking his classes.

Comment:

Professor Guss gives interesting lectures during class. His reading selections for the course are excellent. I especially like that he also includes recommended readings on the syllabus. He is a fair grader,flexible with office hours & easily accessible. However, he is a bit of a control freak. His research is interesting - ask him about it!

He knows a lot, but isn´t too concerned with whether or not the students learn. Classes are boring. He assigns a lot of reading, then doesn´t follow up to see if you read it. I wouldn´t recommend his class.
