Dr. O'Brien is a great professor. His lectures are good and he is very funny so they are easy to follow. However, he does not cover everything in class that will be found on his exams, and his exams are brutal. He assigns homework to help with the exam, but he does not go over it. If you're not big into econ don't take him.

Comment:

One of the best teachers Ive had so far. But his work is very difficult. His grading criteria is very tough as there are several test and a presentation. You have to read the book in order to understand what is going on.

Drifts off too much and can make the lectures confusing. The homework is hard because he doesn't really do the problems in class. He needs to just pop examples from the book on the board and solve them, doesnt really explain why you do certain things, just do them. Great guy just wish he would do more examples

I've had Professor O'Brien for a number of classes and have in everyone received a grade which reflects my effort. He's a really nice guy and a great Econ Professor just don't expect an easy A.

I had him for Intro to Microeconomics online. He was very clear on how you will be graded. Each week we had to complete 4-5 homework questions, a discussion board, and a quiz. 3 tests during the semester. He only grades 10 out of 12 weeks of work so if you do all 12, you get extra credit, or skip 2 weeks without penalty. Do the work & you'll pass.

Bill O'Brien is the fairest professor at WSU. His tests are punishing, he expects a lot of you, but you are paying to learn. And he will step up to bat for you in any way, shape, or form he can. I would run through a wall for this guy.

AWFUL. draws the same graphs over and over, and put's things on the tests we never went over. you HAVE to do the homework if you want to even have a clue what will be on the test. oh btw he never goes over homework either, he collects it like the day of the test, seriously?! NEVER AGAIN.

If you're an Econ major, take this class with Intermediate Macro. There's a lot of similar material and it makes it much easier. Believe me, I just did it. O'Brien is one of the best professors I've had. He's very smart and adds plenty of humor to the class. The tests are hard and there's one big group project/presentation. I would take him again.

Microecon with obrien was very tough. I took this class online and found myself studying for his class more than all of my others comnbined. The plus is that he is fair and can be helpful when need be. If you are not interested in econ, i wouldn't recommend this class

I'm going to try to avoid taking his classes ever again. The hardest professor ever! I'm in an online class and the workloads ridiculous. There's a new chapter everyweek so 15 chapters total. That inlcudes an exam, assignment and 5 posted discusions weekly! Super hard, and on top of that I hate economics in general. Don't take him it's not worth it

This is the best college class and the best professor I ever had!!!! Everyday was a different experience, I always have so much fun in his class!!! His teaching method is very effective and he also very nice!! His examples are real life related so you will definitely learn from this class. If I was an Economic major, I'll definite take him again!!!

Took the class online. He doesn't really help when you ask help on homework questions. The quizzes start out easy, then get extremely hard. Homework, quiz and a post with 5 responses due every week. A lot for a 100 level class.

Prof O'Brien is amazing. One of the best I've had at WSC. He makes the subject readily understandable, and has plenty of examples to explain. He has an extremely deep knowledge of economics and business. Tests weren't too hard, and he says exactly what will be on them. Definitely take O'Brien at some point!
