I never received a syllabus for this class. He is very unclear about assignments and when they are due. No test. Not once opened my book. I always took my laptop and did homework for other classes. If you can handle not being 100% sure about the assignments, take him. If you need structure, RUN.

This guy is terrible!!! I took his film class from 6-9 and wanted to shoot myself before the end. He is off topic, monotone, and a has no clue how to teach film. He showed good movies but ruined them by talking or trying to fast forward through them. What kind of film professor can't work a DVD player???

Not the best teacher. I managed a B, but he wasn't very helpful, all he showed movies, but it wasn't the best class. I had the three hour course, over a third of it was just him droning on. Easy class, if you can figure out what assignments are due, and get them in, and if you don't miss a ton. This class made me re-think three hour classes!

Film Appreciation From the first day of class I knew I was going to have a problem. He is unorganized and off topic. We watched movies sure but the discussion didn't relate to the movie. I didn't know what to do for assignments and then you didn't even get a grade just checks. After doing all my work and getting "check pluses" I still got a B

I took him for film appreciation, he's scatter-brained and can really talk, but HE'S SUPER EASY!!! HIS CLASS MAY BE EASIER THAN GYM (SERIOUSLY). He only gives 2-3 assignments the entire semester which are also easy. He understandss if you can't make it to class, he just asks not to take advantage of it. He is the smartest guy at UCa actually has sense and is really nice. If you are sick he says go home its like he is a nice understanding person with sense. He is honest and pure. He has learned so much. He is a great man listen to him he tells true facts about is life and applies it to the lesson. GOOD MAN!!!!

I love Dr. Harvey as a person, and an advisor, but as a teacher, I could not recommend him. I have his class at 8 am, and it is purely lecture. The class is very ambiguous, and I never know what to do, turn in, etc. If you need clarity, don't take this class. But again, he's extremely intelligent and a nice guy.

My Favorite teacher ever. Very unconventional, but in a good way. He actually cares about his students,hates failing people so if you are doing poorly will work with you as much as it takes to make a good grade. Class discussions are funny and very interactive. Very few assignments and those are very easy. You wont regret taking him, even at 8am!
