Comment:

Mr. Herrick was my favorite Professor at GTCC! I took him for both levels of Physics and (surprisingly) I now feel very confident in what I once thought was an impossible subject. Study by doing the homework and make sure you understand the problems he goes over in lecture and on the practice tests. I would definitely take his class again.

After having difficult taking Physics at UNCG, I was happy to find a Professor that could actually explain Physics! Do the homework. Practice the problem types he does in class and for homework, and you will be prepared for the exams. He will also help with homework in class if you are stuck!

Hands down my favorite teacher for the two classes I had with him. Really easy to talk to and establish a connection with. I'm was pretty flippant and slightly antagonistic, but we got along. Study before you go to class because he's got a lot of ground to cover, but his lectures never leave anything off. I had trouble learning just from thelecture

I was in 251, and I had never taken physics before. I struggled in the beginning. He teaches well, but if you don't understand definitely go to office hours. He will help you with your homework if you ask him. Take advantage of that! Don't cram for the exams. Review the concepts so you can explain them on the test! He will do his best to teach you.

Mr. Herrick was an excellent instructor, very intelligent and knowledgeable about his subject. He has a patient and humerous personality, and would help students who were having difficulty learning class material. My only complaint of the course would be the length of the lectures, which stretched on for almost three hours each class. A+ teacher.

Hilarious in an awkward, not uncomfortable way. I wish I'd had him for lecture; he gives understanding of the concepts at hand a lot of credit. Notes errors without counting off for the little things at first. The lab REALLY helped me with this class; being able to focus on what you're doing and knowing the grade will come. I love this prof.

Best Professor I've ever had. He is so kind and genuinely wants everyone to enjoy his class and pass it with minimum difficulty. Great guy. The only negative thing is that he is a huge pushover. Many disrespectful students took advantage of him which constantly disrupted class.

Professor Herrick reminds you of Al Bundy when you first meet him. But don't be fooled he knows his stuff. He teaches by doing problems as opposed to lecturing which really helps. It took 2 tests to get the hang of his testing style. Great teacher, but you must study and work problems. There are no easy A's.

Fun class and lab! He's corny but really fun. He is a wonderful singer and a great teacher! You will actually learn something, EXTREMELY easy!! Highly reccomended and I will be taking his AST 152 class next semester, he also teaches the Geology class which my boyfriend took and also enjoyed

Mr. Herrick is one of the best instructors at GTCC. He make the class a lot of fun! Everything you've read is true.....MAKE sure you ask to hear the Rubby Ducky song, you will laugh so hard it will make you pee your pants! I also had him for AST 151A.

I took his class, but never showed up except to take test. He post all the lecture notes on blackboard and gives the dates for the test. I literally never came to class after the second week, except to take test and got a C. Not bad. Easy class and nice teacher, he gives out candy test day.

Professor Herrick makes the subject of astronomy fascinating to even the most jejune students at the school. His explanations are clear and the class is structured in a very organized manner. Just remember never to classify Pluto as a planet (it is a KBO if you were wondering)!
