For a writing class David challenges you to write differently than you normally would, even to think differently about who you are as a writer. Whether he knows this or not is a different story. I also think he reads the comments posted on this site very intently, and then wonders who the heck would write that.

The best instructor at SLC. Very complimentary of students' work but reads through every story carefully and gives helpful suggestions. He's the best at finding what students do best and encouraging them to develop these talents. Very caring, dedicated teacher; will stay in touch w/you and is genuinely interested in you and your progress/life.

Dave is awesome! A little too easy sometimes - most of his critiques are on the pleasant side (sometimes you just need to hear that something sucks). All in all, a great guy.
