Dr. Ingram is the best! He is a easy grader on papers and offers extra credit. Not a bad class to take for philosophy core. Highly recommend him.

Dave Ingram is so nice. He is a very easy paper grader. However, he gives hard exams! Because of this, he offers extra credit to help you out. There is 1 debate, 5 papers, 2 exams, and participation that go into your grade. Not super difficult, just make sure you try on your papers and study for the exams. Take him if you want a fairly easy ethics.

Very caring and understanding but his class is too unstructured and unorganized. He assigns a lot of reading but you can get away with not doing it as long as you go to class. There are a total of four papers and 10 pop quizzes, which are more difficult, a midterm and a final. Make sure to study from his powerpoints!

Dr. Ingram is a very nice guy. However, this class was extemely slow and dry. 4 papers which he grades easy, 10 pop quizzes which are difficult, a final and a midterm. He posts power points on each topic, so if you just run through those, you will gain enough information to get a good grade on everything.

Very passionate in what he does and teaches. Easy grader. But lectures can be boring and hard to follow. Theres a ton of quizzes based on the readings so do the readings. Class is only out of 100 points!!!

Great professor. Really passionate and knowledge about his subject and although he assigns six papers, they're pretty short and he's an easy grader. He explains the assigned readings in great detail in class so go to class.

great professor. Great lectures. He's helpful if you ask questions and the lack of class participation results in him being more prone to speak at great length on a given topic. please just speak in his class. He has a wealth of knowledge that is virtually untapped by most of the students. Extra credit is fairly easy to attain.

This class was great! There were 6 short response papers (after your write one, they get easier), midterm, final and a few quizzes. Professor Ingram is a really nice guy but his lectures can sometimes get monotonous and he'll end up in a rant. When it comes to quizzes (TF), he usually runs through what you'll need to know. Also, no text books

Good core class ! Not terribly difficult. There are 6 papers you have to write (3-4 pages) but he grades them fairly easy. You have to go to class, he gives pop quizzes. Class is only out of 100 points. Midterm and Final were not to bad if you pay attention during class. I would definitely recommend taking him! Nice guy!

Ingram is a pretty easy going guy and really just talks about philosophy the whole class. He's a very fair grader. Its a pretty alright core class. He tends to go off on tangents and shows himself to be pretty liberal at times.

He is a boring teacher and class can be interesting but he's extremely biased. If you write anything that challenges his beliefs be prepared for a bad grade. He once bought in a group advocating for amnesty for undocumented residents and offered us extra credit if we volunteered for them. Besides that he's alright.

Ingram is a good teacher. His lectures are very clear. Be prepared to do a lot of reading as well. He gives quizzes every week and drops the lowest one. His midterm and final were easy if you understand the main points in the articles you give. His discussions are interesting as well. I would definitely recommend taking him.

Dr. Ingram is an absolutely phenomenal teacher; if genuinely learning philosophy, and philosophical writing is your motive for taking the class, then you will not have a better experience with any other professor. He's challenging, clear, and open to any idea that may even counter his own. He's honestly the best professor i've had thus far.

I don't find Philosophy interesting at all but I do like Professor Ingram. He tried really hard to make the class interesting and get everyone involved. As long as you study the powerpoints and go to every class to turn in the response paper you will do fine.

Extremely nice man who tries to help his students succeed. Yes, lectures are boring but many of the readings are interesting. The beginning of the semester is more boring but the later readings captured my attention. You can tell he loves what he teaches. Keep up with the readings and study the powerpoints.

Kindhearted person, but a Marxist ideologue whose doctrinaire idealism (fueled by his time on a commune in the 60s) is too often substituted for good teaching. He is quite sharp on the Frankfurt School and a good lecturer, but not really open to other ideas. I'd respect him more if he professed Catholic humanism rather than passe secular humanism.

Comment:
Very lengthy, boring, complicated readings that you HAVE to keep up on because there is a pop quiz once a week. You don't really have to take notes, just study from the powerpoints he gives you. Gives extra credit on the midterm and final which is very helpful. The lectures are absolute torture but the tests were not that bad.
