Comment:

Instructor is very laid back. Accent is thick but you get used to it. Grades were mainly based on year-long project with a couple quizzes/homeworks. Treated the class like a job in a work place, which I wish more programming classes should follow suite. Would take again if I could.

This guy is awesome. I dont understand the other reviews on here. He teaches so well and speaks elegant English. His programming assignments are fair yet challenge you to learn. I feel like I could graduate with all the knowledge I need after taking this class.

No exams BUT very disorganized class content structure. Requires software implementation with open-ended instructions. Has random, open-note, in-class activities called "quizzes". Lectures consist of him fumbling around code that often doesn't correctly build or compile. If you want an easy A but spend time wondering how, here's your guy.

Tom is very good. He works hard to make sure that you understand what's going on. However, you must do the homework or you will not do well at all. test come from the homework. he is fair in his grading, the class i was in bomb one of the test and he allowed us to make it up after going over it again to make sure it was understood.

"Tom" is helpful, but gets somewhat frustrated when people don't do their HW. He works hard to prepare you for the uniform midterm. Was hard to understand at first, but you get used to it. You will have to work to get an A or B.

After a week of classes you can understand him fine. Even if you cant, he puts great examples on the board, step by step. Reviews any HW problem you have trouble with in class. Pop quizzes. 2 in class tests. DO YOUR HW. Great teacher but not easy.
